The only thing that I would like to see in later gpu-z's is for dual gpu systems you can see both gpu specs at the same time without opening gpu-z twice. But it's only because I'm lazy and don't want to click it twice.

Thats the only suggestion I have though ;)

1. I wouldn't use the word tool because it's got pornographic overtones lol
and I didn't like the fact that ATI tools wanted to install some kind of unsigned override driver.

2. I didn't mean to knock any wind out of the sails, I was 100% honest, and no I'm not a fanboi
I own both ATI and nVidia hardware and enjoy both of them but truth is truth ATI has taken the final position on the AGP bus , yes it's old but thats not even the point.

3. Glad to hear your're working out the ATI issues W1zzard , I can't even begin to touch your kind of programming skill , but the more serious question is how are you getting the information on the internals of all these video chips , you must have some heavy connections with the companies , if you have done all this without having to have such information I would say you are
one seriously heavy dood.

4. This is one of those times where I wish I had met someone under better circumstances so that I could participate in a better way with them , aka learn all I can from them in order to gain a technical advantage hahaha , kidding , but I sure would like to know what you know so I could help.

I can't help if I don't have information, thats the ugly truth.

I don't know whats worse, being called a fan boy or not being able to help the programmer at the code level.

I feel the latter is the worse thing because it's not a crime to be a fan.

and you certanly have some fans today W1zzard , I'm waitting with baited breath to see
if you fix GPU-Z to work on my 3850 AGP

by all indications you sound like GPU-Z is totaly aware of my 3850 AGP and that the problem I'm having is totaly my fault , but others have issues with it to so it's not just me.

Anyway all that asside , when this is all said and done , I would love to see a feature where GPU-Z listed the OpenGL caps "extentions" which is not alot of work from what I understand.

That could put the final nail in the coffin for the competition if thats the intent.

One last thing , GPU-Z is also what brought ME to the techpowerup forums.

I'm glad that Wizz is getting the much deserved accolades that he has earned through all of his hard work and dedication to the enthusiast community. Quite frankly it's long overdue. The software and wisdom that you and by extension the TPU community have contributed to the web is nothing short of monumental. So congrats, thanks, and continue the good works that have made you and TPU the awesome creative engine that it's become.

A well deserved ranking among utilities. All serious benchers have GPU-Z open on their SS. I too found TPU while chasing down some SW I needed for benching. If you code it they will come:D

What are you steering towards for a name? Are you looking for suggestions?

lol fast editor you are!

GPU-X (contains all of GPU-Z code for information / sensors), plus provides over(clocking/volting) and stability testing.

OK that was speculation. W1z never told us anything of that sort.

I looked all over the net for a gpu-x

Folding@Home service installers will install your GPU service as "Folding@home-GPU-[X]" where X is a number

Folding@home installs with the cat drivers.

Thats something that burns my cookies when they add third party stuff I don't recognise or want.

The cat drivers also install a world of war craft free trial, thats so bogus because you have to pay left and right to be able to play that game, other games don't pull that kind of crap ...
ok some do but not many.

What I'm saying is I don't think gpu-x is a good idea to use since it's already used in command line.

This whole thing stinks because nVidia did NOT invent the graphics processing unit
it was a marketing term they hijacked from the hardware world and was in circulation
way before they came into the picture and started acting like they were God.

so I would move away from the GPU terminology , we don't have to bow down to nVidia
we can call it a Video Processing Unit or Visual Processing Unit , or even Video Command Execution Unit and the list goes on ... nVidia are not the last word no matter how much they
may think they are.

Anyone who thinks nVidia has the exclusive right to control the term Graphics Processing Unit is a terrorist and a traitor to this country.

GPU-Z is a utility and it could be called - VPU , Video Processor Utility.

I realise it was named GPU-Z in order for people to understand that it is simular to CPUID
which is for CPUs but that also send up a red flag for me because it makes it look like
GPU-Z is following the nVidia pradigim and thats insulting.

honeslty you can't "get in to the game" unless you can "get in to the hardware" hahah

a powerup is a game term , it means to aquire an item in the game that gives you an advantage aka more power.

Anyway I'm beating a dead horse on that because that train has already left the station.

I don't agree with the term GamePowerUP but it's not my call either.
that term kinda leaves a bad taste in the mouth for me because it's treading
into old school gamer lingo and that can cause a loss of respect from them.

is it just me or does anyone else feel this way.

i tell w1zard before about review in tomshardware and they was talk about most useful programs in world for test and overclock and the GPU-Z and ATI tool was on the top

I never imagined people could get so upset over something like that. I guess we all have what is important to us, but I really think you need to calm down. We are not too tolerant to excessive "fanboyism" and you have crossed the line with the whole traitor to your country silliness and references to nvidia being insulting. Tone back the...... unique rhetoric please. I do not want "flame wars" and "fanboy" squabbles in this thread which is where you seem to be trying to steer it.
