I was going to be snarky and say "that's hardly DIY, just changing the memory and HD size," but the standardization (similarity) of the netbook market is a huge factor in the increasing presence and advancement of Linux, so I'll shut up. :D

I'm guessing by the title of this that the "netbook" name case went through in court?

Doubt it, more likely just that Malware's calling it a netbook because it is.

If the price is right, this thing looks like an excellent buy. Memory and HDD upgrades from the manufacturer are two of the most overpriced add-ons consumers are forced into purchasing, lest they be stuck paying for the base model materials they end up tossing in the trash in favor of their own hardware anyway, so I won't complain about the lack of customization.

I assume also by the "250GB OCZ SSD" mention that this will support 2.5" SATA drives. If so, oh, the possibilities... Sweet stuff, OCZ.

The battery SUCKS.

Plus if this is built for enthusiasts then lets see something like the NVidia 9400 Northbridge + GPU solution :)

Plus a 13 inch model with C2D processors and a higher res screen...

My only complaint is, can't they at least give us 1280x720 in these 10" netbooks?

No kidding, I have been carrying the Lenovo 10" and man I would seriously buy one for just web surfing but exactly that the res is too small... 1280x720 would work well for about anyone with decent eyes, especially being you sit closer to these than your standard notebook or monitor anyways.

Then it wouldn't be a netbook. :p

I seriously want to see one with the nVidia Ion platform in it, then I would buy a netbook.

Well that depends on your definition of netbook doesnt it?

HP did on the 9-in screen they had on the Mini-note 2133. Weird that no one offers it on the 10in.
