Help Palit_Guy? Need to rma my gtx280

I bought a palit GTX280 through a local small town Canadian store, that in turn got it through ncix.com. Don't really think I have an original receipt anywhere, but I'm pretty sure we can agree that a gtx280 has to still be under warranty, no? I've only had it a few months, it's always had heat issues, now when I run a game it'll go to a multi-coloured screen and the game locks up, and I have to do a hard reset. I've stuck my old 9800gtx in place, and it's working fine. Any advice?

Does Palit_Guy still come around TPU? I hope so, I thought it was pretty cool about a year ago when he showed up. Hopefully he can help you get things sorted out john, gotta getcha gamin' and folding to the max again!

I want my card back sooooo bad! Edit: I simply can't play warhead, gtaiv, stalker clearsky at 1920x1200 res on this 9800gtx, it sucks! Big time. 280 is soooooooo much faster.

Not to hijack the OP's thread, but would it be alright if I asked if it is possible to get a Palit card from any U.S. retailer? I've been looking around and couldn't find anything...

I'm just at the rma page, but not sure what to do about a screenshot. I've had to remove the card because it locks up my system when it crashes. Which is whenever I try to run a game. I think it will be very apparent to anyone who tests it! If I put it back in, I'm pretty sure I couldn't even get a screenshot. Advice? Also, do I need to send it back in the full box, or in the little box inside and put that in some kind shipping bag or box? Sorry, I've never had to do this before...

I experienced very high vrm temps since I got the card, I'm pretty sure a vrm has been taken out.
I could leave my name and serial # of my card in here, for a heads up on the rma?
Let's see, it has a grey background, and thousands of multicoloured dots, that's what it looks like, and I have to hold the power button and kill my computer.
And the game is gone at this point.....

Also, it stays at stock volts, and oced only lightly, as it sucked at ocing, again I believe due to high vrm temps.
I won't send the rma email until you say it's ok. But I will leave my name and card serial# right here, so you can tell them it's this card.

try $879 on for size with the GTX295, which is cheaper than some other brands at the same store.

i remember paying $850 in 2004 for a AGP 6800 Ultra 256, it goes up and down, for a while we almost matched you US guys dollar for dollar, even then our prices were a good $40-60 more for shipped and in a retail warehouse.
