there might be a slight bottleneck, and i mean slight, but you can always bump it up a lil to get rid of that pesky bottleneck

Where did you get the sig picture from :p

No it won't bottleneck

its based on the g31 chipset so it is definitly a budget board im not sure but you might want to spend a bit more and get a better board

I agree. Save money and buy a better board, especially if you plan to OC and/or Crossfire. G31 is crap for both. Look for a P45 board at least.

Yeah I realize its a small upgrade but currently my mobo only supports 2x DDR2 800 and this one is 4x DDR2 1066 and it has Xfire as well

I need links to this board. I don't think G31 supports xfire.

Meh, Do yourself a favor and buy a P45 board. The second slot on P35 boards only operate at 4X PCIe 1.1 speeds. A pretty significant bottleneck for modern cards.

as A P35 owner, yes, do NOT go crossfire on P35.

Its fine for anything else (sound card, physx card, whatever) but not for crossfire.

Even so, its still the cheapest board with 4 ddr2-1066 slots :D it would appear i got confused, under overview it says 2x pcie x 16x (blue @ 16x- black @ 4 or 1x) lol i thought it meant just having a card in the black slot made THAT card run @ 4x and that having a card in the blue slot made them both run @ 16x. What a noob i am indeed! :rockout:

P45 are great boards, but if money is your issue look at a P43 as they overclock very well, it's just the lack of crossfire support. With a good overclocking board your q could be overclocked to at least 3ghz maybe more eliminating your bottleneck. If your went crossfire your Q at 3ghz would bottleneck the xfire setup with HD 4870's unless you pushed it to 3.4ghz+. at least thats the general response i got when i planned on upgrading to GTX 260's SLI with my q6600 at 3ghz.

i polled YES, due to your current motherboard not being able to greatly overclock your processor. get another motherboard such as P43 then you'll be golden. gl
