I am planning to buy a new rig for about 900$(45K INR) within a week or so. My main uses of the rig are Gaming, Browsing etc etc.

Heres my purposed build

AMD PhII X4 920
Biostar TA790GX A2+ 5.x
Ram 2*2GB DDR2 800mhz or 1066 Mhz( Please suggest which brand should I go by?)
HDD Seagate Barracuda Sata 2 500 gb
Monitor Samsung 19" Mist model(Is it good enough)
GPU ATI HD 4850 DDR3 512 mb
PSU 500w( I am really confused over which brand to choose. On calculation from here http://www.journeysystems.com/?power_supply_calculator shows 500W is enough)
Keyboard and mouse- Microsoft, Logitech or any other
Case-????(This part is totally unknown)
Cooling (I am new into Ocing. Still want to oc do it to 3.5 Ghz or so :D)

Thanks in advance.

nice CPU choice

Biostar motherboards used to be crap, but if I'm not mistaken, Biostar is producing some quality boards now(someone correct me if I'm wrong), your defienently on the right track picking a 790gx board.

RAM, G.Skill is usually some of the best RAM you can get price/performance wise

Is a 19" monitor enough? that's up to you

GPU wise I'd try to find a 1 gig 4870 or a GTX260 at the very least for a gaming rig

500 watts from a quality PSU would probably be enough. Personally I'd give myself alittle more head room and go for something in the 600 watt range. Don't go cheap on your power supply though, it one of the most important choices you'll make in this build. Why you ask? Because a bad PSU that goes out can take your whole system with it. IMHO the $20-30 you'd save on the cheap PSU is not worth it.

Keyboard wise, just get one that is comfortable for you. Persoanlly I use a Logitect Elite LE(nothing specail). I bought a Razor Lycosa about two months ago, and honestly, yes the Lycosa is a great looking KB, I like the Logitech better and returned the Lycosa(especailly after 3 incidents with the Lycosa in the 1st month having it inwhich I would have a random key stop working.$80 for a keyboard, the damn thing better work perfectly)

Case wise, go looking around, find a few that you like the look of, and bring your finds back here for us to comment on.

Cooling wise, hands down, for the money, you can't beat the xigmatek S1283's

A 4850 is more than enough for a 19", specially with a beast of a CPU backing it. The biostar 790GX's are really good, but require some extra cooling for the mosfets.

As for the PSU, what brands are available?

Regarding the case and cooling:

Pretty much close to any ATX case will work make sure you have 2 intakes/2 exhausts 120MM available BUT list the coolers for us. :)

As far as the PSU and Case is concerned I could afford only about 100$(5K INR) for both. I hooked up with some cases like Coolermaster Elite 330 etc. But couldn't find one satisfying aesthetic senses and the budget alike. I would really appreciate it if you could suggest a decent-looking cabby under 45$(2K INR).

The choice of PSU is mind-boggling as well. I am stranded in between a few choices like

1. TAGAN 500W
2. Corsair 450W
3. CoolerMaster EXtreme Series 500W
4. Blackdiamond POV 500W

I want a good PSU of 500W within 55$.

I'd go for the Corsair 450w.

go with the corsair - as for Case choice, its down to personal preference - a few Id suggest would be the Antec 300, antec 900 / 902, antec 1200, CM 690, Coolermaster centurion 590, any Lian Li, but like I said, its down to what you like more than anything.

See my post in your crossthread. See if you have a Phenom 925 available and if its not much of a difference in price I would opt for that as then you can go ddr3 in the not so distant future if you wish.

Biostar mobos are better OCiers than gigabye or asus according to many users. Also 790GX from Biostar looks so cool. :D

You are on the right track for this build.

You picked a good list of items. This computer will run any game on maxed out settings, with anywhere from 30-300FPS.

If you can get the MSI DKA790GX board it's great. I LOVE mine. I have my 720BE at 3.7ghz with 1.42v.
