Hi.

I wanna install windows 7 in my rig.

I wanna know if windows 7 have good compatibility with games and programs, all my HW can be installed in Vista either X86 or X64 versions.

also for some reason my soundblaster card sounds like shit in vista, when playing music the sound seems to lower a bit at times and It's frustrating.

I want to ask if the sound arquitechture of windows 7 is the same as Vista.

Thanx for the help.

My bet is it all works. I was running an old Asus M2V-MX SE Plus (AM2 non-+ mobo) in Win 7 betas (not even the RC) and it worked great.

I highly suggest it.

YES, Windows 7 RC is worth it ...

Been running Windows 7 RC on all my rigs (7 - old and new), and absolutately NO problems ... for an RC, it's great!

Windows 7 Will run on half a gig of ram. It has a great UI, but the Aero effects are tricking to get working if you have a slower computer.

Really I've been surprised at how just like Vista it is, at least from a front end aspect.

I am aware that there's a lot of behind the scense things that should be different, and they probably are, but so far, whatever it is, hasn't shown me any great turn around in either performance or compatibility.

Having said that, stability is ok. Most Vista based programs or drivers work fine, and the default ones bundled with 7 itself are pretty decent. The install is fairly quick and hassle free.

A tip is to remember that you can put any of the programs into Vista (or Vista SP 1 / SP 2) compatibility mode, and bypass some potential issues.

Ultimatley, at least so far, 7 probably feels to most people as a bit more how Vista should have been from the start.

If you like Vista, or WANT to like Vista, then give 7 a try.

if you dont like vista, you dont like 7 ;)
basicly 7 is just a polished vista, almost everything in 7 is in vista
i didnt notice any diffrent between 7 RC 64-bit and Vista 64-bit SP1/SP2 in everyday usage

atm i run 7 RC 64-bit
but some programs mainly canon drivers that WORK fine on Vista 64-bit dont work at all on 7 64-bit
