Is it official Sony firmware or is it custom firmware? I haven't followed the PSP scene in over a year, but all I know is that you can't run emulators on official Sony firmware, you have to have a custom version, and last I checked you needed that pandora battery or exploit a game save in GTA LCS or Lumines on pretty old firmware, like 3.XX I think.

But if you can't get custom firmware, I have my old PSP laying around, it has custom firmware but it's in pretty bad condition, UMD drive wont' work and screen has a weird scanline/brightness issue, I'll sell it real cheap if you're interested.

I'll try and find a good site for PSP stuff, can't remember the name off the top of my head.

it is orig firmware i kinda grew away from psp's they should have gone the way the iphone did with all the aps but they didnt. And recentl;y i learnt about homebrew stuff and custom firmware and cutsom apps etc so ive grown a new interest into it.

ive read something about custom firmware do i need this to run these emulators? and how do i get them?

edit also ive heard about a bloke called Dark Alex he's meant to be the main man who started all the custom homebrew stuff, the latest version of his firmware ive been able to find is Version 3.40 OE. Which do you have and does it work ok?

edit2: after more research ove come accross some terms, like semi-brick and people refering to the psp systems as Phat? is that the original system? and what does a semi-brick mean?

also if i do a custom firmware downgrade can i re-install orig firmware if it all goes tits up?

stop and desist telling people how to do it is not allowed you will have to PM each other sorry

also dont bother talking about emulation and hacking for illegal reasons thats a no no

we dont talk about pc piracy so dont talk about psp piracy because clearly that is the discussion topic
