Rather overkill for a headset - however I'll be reading reviews to see how it performs.

Yes, music will sound better on other headphones at the same price range. But that isn't the point. These are 5.1 headphones. With these headphones you get true positional audio. No "simulated" 5.1 sound crap either. I have a pair of Speedlink Medusa 5.1 headphones and trust me, they are far, far, far better in games than any 2 channel can ever will be.

Sure, music sounds like crap on them; but then again that isn't the point is it?

lol take it easy for one this isn't that expensive $69 EURO ($96 USD) has multiple drivers, decent frequencies, amp, lots of extra cables and carrying case. assuming it doesn't fall apart faster than a japanese motorcycle it might be a good deal.

Don't you mean faster than a domestic car made with chinese parts built in mexico?

If these are really good, then the price is good. It's really hard to find a good set of 5.1 headphones. (why am I talking like a teenage woman with no intellect)

Really? Music sounds like crap in 5.1?

^^ Someone acts as if all drivers are equal.

That makes more sense. I was hoping you weren't a hillbilly :p

As long as german engineering hasn't degraded like in cars, I'm sure the headphones will be spiffy :)

Kind of weird they wouldn't try to enter US market.

This is another remake of TEAC HP10 which arent polish btw.

To lighten up these usually contain actually 4 speakers within. I think center channel is just a mono mix for two "front" ones and I dont know about these but the sub channel is actually a vibrator :)

Overall sound quality (in the TEAC version) is really really good for a headphone. However I will not agree these are good for gaming. When it comes to listening games with good sound systems for footsteps and locating sound sources Stereo is teh shit. Yeah you can figure out where it came from here but Stereo delivers that information clearly and you dont waste time wondering where did that hit came from.
Maybe it is fun to play games that arent so much sound-location based cause it gives a more 3d feeling but thats it. I love listening to music on these due to sound quality.

Overall I must say this is a good choice if you want good sound without additional amplifires. My TEAC HP10 is indestructable. I must have drove my chair over the cord a bilion times and dropped it countless times. The volume control isnt what its supposed to be after 5 years - I have to squeze it a bit so channels volume are equal. But I think thats just time on the connectors inside prolly some good WD40 would solve this.

If this is a good remake of teac/medusa this is well worth its money. Maybe you can get a Stereo headset like that but I think this has stereo mode the same as the older 5.1 headphones had which is alright.

On the dark side of these raports : TEAC had a leather "head holder" which rules for comfort I think i just see some black sponge on these. Also the speaker case seems closed where TEAC had open case which might just be a matter of taste but I like to hear the envirement around me while I play
