Silverstone is getting ready to present the Raven 2 at the show, starting tomorrow. We were able to take a few pictures of the chassis already. It is much more compact than the original Raven, but features the same unique layout in which the mainboard is mounted with the rear slots facing upward.

Silverstone has packed the case with an AMD based motherboard and four Radeon 4870X2s. The bottom of the case holds three, what appear to be, 200 mm fans which pull air into the case and the power supply is mounted so that it has access to cool air, blowing it out the top as well.

Silverstone has included a special mount for an SSD and a hole to gain access to the cooler backplate of the mainboard on the side of the case as well.

Can you run X2 cards in quad xfire (8Xgpu)? I was under the impression that 4Xgpu was the limit.

Notice it isnt hooked up and running? I think its more of a marketing thing to show off the over all room you have to use.

I liked the pull down door in the first one but this one looks much better.

IDK I'd have to have it in my hands to say for sure. Not a fan of the length and squatness of this version. It's a change though, and I'm all for that!

If Case Mfgrs are gonna show off their "New" cases why do they all use drunk monkeys to do their wiring?

(If I had a company that made cases and modular PSs seems simple to me to make an optional wiring harness with a custom length for the killer case....)

Because drunken monkeys are cheap to use for labor, and fun to watch.

somthing more trick than a 90* twist and some odd positioning is needed to win me over completely.

I like it, it doesn't look as crazy as the first version which is kind of a good thing.

I agree. A bit OT, but along the same lines... I used to manage a high end stereo store (Cello, Conrad Johnson, Apogee, etc...). Not only did we offer custom wiring for systems/components, but the cable and/or electronics manufacturers did as well.

Why is all the I/O stuff on top? Yeah, it'd help with being able to change out stuff easily, but you'd have things sticking out the top and it'd just be weird.

That's what makes the Raven special...Even the original has it on the top.

I'm a fan of simplicity with function, but that front is so boring, it's making me think of IBM circa 1990.

Oh lordy lord, the first one was ugly and terribly designed... Now a second one is coming out already?

I wont be surprised if drunk monkeys designed these cases.

I like the case, new design to the current standard. Hopefully there will be alot of air flow from the case both from the bottom to the top but from front to back.

More pics please!

I like how they have the heat from the psu,4 4870x2 and the cpu all blowing into a cramped plastic compartment at the top.lol

I like the looks of this one better, but the overall size of the first one better. I much prefer clean looks over lame attempts at impressing 14yr olds. lol

look's like it just vent's to the room? care to show what you're talking about?

i would have to say that this design is ingenious! the positioning of the component's promote natural cooling which will only further improve on any active cooling implemented in the case :toast:

So a assume you can kink the cables on top and route them out the back? ...whats with the velcro strap on the psu?...and there are three 200mm intake fans on the bottom with only one 120mm fan exhaust on top with a cover as well? This case is innovative and unique just not my style :ohwell:

Nice thermodynamics... heat rises... right out the back. Only thing is it has the I/O stuff on top of the case, which is weird.
