I can't even begin to imagine the cooling implications. It looks like a really, really expensive toaster oven.

Key question though, will the toast taste even better?

Good point though, though they have SLI capable shuttles already, and there even is a mATX (slightly larger, I know) dual Xeon board. (i5000) So apparently it can be done.

I'm very excited to see how this turns out. I wouldn't worry about cooling tbh, all of my Shuttles have been more than excellent and heat was never an issue.

I was thinking the other day that I haven't seen an X58 based XPC.

This one paired with 4850's CF would be neat.

hope you mean 4850x2's in CF :slap:
or 4870x2

With a 500W PSU I can't see this happening :slap:
As you probably don't know, Shuttle uses their own PSU standard.

The shuttles also normally only have two expansion slots...

eh intresting concept, shuttles are usually decent priced when compared to a good motherboard + case + psu, with the tradeoff being horrendous thermal properties and not many tweak options (though with the heat that's probably a good idea). I watercooled an old socket a shuttle system for shits and giggles

Sorry... it is U.S. only this time around. Thought the U.S. fans here might be interested.

If there's enough "buzz" though, our other offices might start a contest like it too ;)
