scored this game for $20 @ staples the other week and just found the gold pistolgrip Ak-47 today

i'm playin' SP and IMO it's a pretty good game! i like a lot of the thing's that people are complaining about, make's the game more interesting if ya ask me

I'm still playing too, bits and pieces when I'm not in CoD4/WiC/2142/Burnout Paradise for the clan lol. I still find it fun, but those checkpoints do get irritating to say the least, but it does add an element of how to take them out, and whether or not they're even worth the ammo. I generally stay on foot for most of my travels, it's much easier to hunt the enemies that way. The MP is pretty decent, they've fixed a lot since it's release, too bad it wasn't as well executed on release, most of my clan-mates sold off their copies. And the map editor still rocks, one of the best I've ever used. I'm not too far into SP, maybe 25% or so...but i still enjoy it and I do enjoy the graphics and physics in the game, that engine could be useful for future games for sure.

i don't do the MP thing and i'm about 43% through the SP game and it just get's better IMO

One thing I really do like is the fact you can choose the time of day and your weapons load-out for striking the enemies...frankly though the checkpoint respawns can be rediculous, you could just be reloading and 3 guys spawn up and here here all of them go "huh?" "what was that" "they're here", and you're standing right next to them lol. Something else I like is watching a guy running towards something to the left of me or around an obstacle, shooting away from me and yet still hitting me with his ammo lol, it's freaking hilarious. But back to the point, I'd like to see checkpoints get rearmed/staffed by trucks coming by and investigating, something a little more realistic than all of a sudden 2-4 guys are all of a sudden there with dead bodies fromt he previous spawn still abound. I like to go for the missions myself, doing all the extras I can, I still stay on foot, it's just more fun that way for me.

FarCry 2 isn't for everyone, I enjoy it, and MP is a true blast...you don't know what you're missing, especially when you have a full server on a map you designed...that's priceless imo. I'm still hoping some SP modding will be made available because there are definately some things worth fixing to make SP a LOT better than it is imo.

If they can mod it so a truck will restock checkpoints, that would make the game... also, if the guns didn't deteriorate in a day, that would be cool too.

I love the game on the "infamous" level because it actually plays really well as a stealth shooter, and the level of realism is pretty great - the graphics are beautiful, its just too bad that the AI and gameplay suck so bad when it comes to checkpoints and getting around the map.

Its makes a mission is so F**king tedious. You see the marker pop up nowhere near a bus stop, and there is a mountain in the way, and you have to go through 4 checkpoints all with respawning iditos... a mission that should take 15 mins takes an hour - and then the next mission is basically the same mission, just in a different area of the map.

I'm about 70% of the way through, and getting to the place/mission dominates the actual gameplay, which sucks, because the combat itself is really entertaining. The game has some serious potential, I just don't know why they didn't spend another week on it to work out the glaring, gameplay-busting, design flaws.

That small change would make such a difference, I've suggested it to Ubi only to get a generalized reply...i'm hoping they'll do it in a future patch/dlc to be honest (if there are anymore...). This game also has a solid future in DLC capabilities, that or for the future, using that engine to render different areas of the world would be very cool, have that size of an area on different continents with different people to meet and work for, different styles, weapons, adversaries, etc.

I do agree on gun deterioration though, but they at least explained it in one of the first tapes you came across that the jackal is selling weapons that have been sold in the markets repeatedly for decades. It adds a sweet element though, but it should take a bit longer on weapons or at least some of them. I use a gold ak and the machete the most tbh so I don't really deal with jams very often.

Yeah i got the Gold AK haha... I put it in a crate - every time I use it, I get my ass kicked on infamous . 4 bullets and I'm down. So much easier with a druganov or a Silent MP5/Dart Rifle combo.

The dart rifle is plagued tho... For one it can only carry 6 darts... REALLY? 6? I can carry 3 CLIPS of everything else, but only one tiny clip of darts w/e. It also deteriorates 100X faster than any other gun - I don't wanna stand still for 5 minutes and actively watch my gun turn to rust haha. Still, game is so great. Here's hoping for some DLC love .

I stopped playing this game due to crashes. Once it's resolved I may or may not go back to it right away. Nevertheless, it was well worth $20 though

I can say that all of you are saing truth but from game was expected much more .The ral action is beggining over a hour or two playing on hard difficulty the AI is more effeciently in fight. The multyplayer is the best solution to remove the single player.My opinion FarCry2 is taking 8 form 10 but with minus.

I haven't had this game crash in months, not since after the 2nd patch and a 3rd patch was released June 3rd that fixed a bunch of stuff too and did some really good changes for MP too. The game has been stable as hell for a looong time for me and my few remaining buddies that still play the game. I'm hooked on it again, but I still see a game that could've been more-so than a game that currently is. Still a solid game with lots to do and lots of ways to do it, and so many factors can help or hurt your situation during a mission or while en route that just keeps things fresh and interesting for me at least. Glad there are some fellow TPU'ers that still play! We might have to get together and make a TPU FC2 MP map!

WOW, 3rd patch already? I didn't know I'll install it as soon as I get the chance, I am so hoping it solves the issues I've been having. It really sucks when you put some good time in playing the game then it just crashes to desktop :shadedshu

The game is a great game but shouldn't be called FARCRY 2 because it's not FARCRY material IMO. Just doing missions IMO gets sort of boring after awhile, so I take it upon myself to just go on a nice shooting rampage sometimes. I must have taken over that huge FORT like 5 times now
