AFIAK, only that one AMD Tri-core is unlockable to a quad core. So my guess would be no.

Software A lot.
Benchmark Scores Its fast. Enough.
On certain motherboards it is. However the other cores might actually be damaged, there was a debate going at another forum about the power consumption and heat output of this chip, as it seems as if AMD didn't bother to do much to lock them, and the other cores are actualy still running but not communicating.

Only the Phenom II's are unlock-able and the MoBo must have SB750 south bridge.. The Kuma cores(7550,7750,&7850) are essentially Phenom I dual core CPU's.

Get a Phenom II x2 550 with a 750SB. That's a Phenom II (omg obviously) but its a 3.1GHZ dual core and in many cases can be unlocked to 4 core.

If I was going to buy a new motherboard and processor I would go Intel
I'm not buying anything really, just asking a question

7550, 7750, 7850 can be unlocked but its about a 1% chance to do so. They are Phenom X4's with 2 disabled cores.
