There is no way they will make money out of this, i´m guessing they will lose, big time, since the development costs I believe where very high, I still believe this to be for marketing. And its working at least for me, one more reason to like ASUS

Man! What a monster! But so is the price. Can't think of any games here or in the immediate future that would require that much meat. Most games out now can't even utilize DX11, yet. Anyway, I'll b going the NVIDEA GTX 200 series (PCI-E or SLI later & middle end), wait till the dust settles (along with the price) & see then. But, what a massive card this thing is. But, I can wait it out.

Really expensive and awesome for a collectors item. I pre ordered 2 of them, but I figured you only live once and I love hardware so I stocked up on soup, rice and beans for the rest of the year! : )
Main reason why I wanted them was so that all my friends and I could do a liquid nitrogen experiment. Benchmarks and all that fun stuff. Since there's only a few I would love to post all the benchies and do whatever I can. Cheers!

This is just dumb. Even if there's only 1000 of them, it's a graphics card. You gotta be damn SAD to buy one of these.

You could easily build an amazing gaming rig for that price.

If anyone here buys one... I will virtually be disgusted with you.

But why the fuck would you! It's a graphics card!

There so much more you can do with that kind of money, spending over £1000 on a piece of plastic that is only slightly better than it's £350 brothers, is stupid.

Stop saying it's for collectors, who would collect this? It'll depreciate like mad. In a years time, this performance will be cheap.

Yeah, but Everyone has a specific love. This is what I love so I decided to make the move.
Dont really care about performance alone. Mostly that it's rare. If you were in a relationship with someone you would'nt leave them just because another person smarter or hotter came along. I love this hobby. I dont care if it's plastic or worthless in 2 months or whatever. Love this stuff!!!! : )

You've bought this?

I'm not slating computers, i love buying new stuff, the most fun bit for me is opening something new after the delivery fella has dropped it off. But i feel these a limit. I used to think the GTX295 was a big waste, but now theres this... I just can't justify £1000+ on this item.

With no offense intended Bodar, what i said in post no.30 is for you.I dont give a crap about the oh its for collectors crap. The price of these is deliberatly that high because asus know full well there are 1000 morons out there that will pay the stupidly hiked price. The only way to make these worth anything to any other collector or worth anything on fleabay is to not even open the box at all,and sell it still sealed up.

Well then I will have to agree with you tigger that I am in fact a moron. But, it's ok to be stupid and in love. Anyway, bottom line is that if you really want something you have to do everything you can to get it ( In a buisness sense ) That's why I'm able to purchase these cards. Worked hard most of my life to get where I am today.

I not gonna knock anyone for buying these. Hell if I was rich, I'd have two pre-ordered myself. Computers are a hobby for me, and price is not a issue when it comes to hobbies IMHO. You get what you can afford.

They must be smoking there damn socks. There is no game that could really benefit that either as there are a lot more cards out at 20th of the price that work just fine for the games today.

I have to admit that if I was rich I would definitely buy them. Heck, if I was really rich, I'd buy all 1000 of them! If you think about it, making 1024 cards would have been more appropriate to computer parts.

Don't worry about all the naysayers here putting you down about it. It's a hobby and the collector's factor is important to you. I can relate to that.

Is there any way you can ensure you get consecutive serial numbers? Now that would be something. :rockout:

Looking forward to the benchies, dude. :)
