Storage OCZ Agility 3 60GB SSD/WD Velociraptor 300GB
Display(s) ASUS VH232H 23" 1920x1080

Yes and No(depends on the system)

Keep in mind that most modern day motherboards have the NIC built in(the Ethernet ports), so i don't see why you would need an NIC card since your building a new PC. Now if you know the mobo doesn't have any Ethernet ports on the back(meaning the mobo is probably very old), then yes you will need an NIC.

Now some people buy NIC's to keep there latency down, now i personally don't think it helps much.

Aren't there USB-to-ethernet adapters? I used one years ago for a wired connection rather than buying a NIC. I know I've seen them for wireless and bluetooth as well.

edit - google 'usb wireless ethernet adapter' - here's an example **snip**

edit 2 - title was right, but specs were wrong. Let's try this again - http://www.buildyourowncomputer.com/page/B/PROD/N2/00370P

Benchmark Scores Nyooom.
in order to connect to wireless, youre going to need a wireless network card (NIC) - bet it onboard, internal, or external (USB) - you need SOMETHING to connect with.

If youre connecting wired, then its extremely rare for a motherboard to not have an onboard network card these days.
