Sempron X1 140 (2.7GHz, 2MB L2 cache, AM2+/AM3)

Has anyone bought (or raped) this processor yet? It goes for exactly US$40.00 in my country and I feel like nuking another processor, but what I'm interested in is if it's disabled core is unlockable with SB710/SB750's ACC feature.

Before I shell out the gold for one, has anyone (or know anyone who) played around with this CPU yet? If it hits 3.8GHz~4.0GHz on air, great! If it unlocks to Athlon II X2s, excellent!

It is a Regor with a disabled core so there is a chance that it's unlockable.

Yup. That's why I'm wondering if anybody here bought one and tested it out on a board with SB750/SB710 and was successful in unlocking/overclocking it greatly. Hopefully there are some experimental users here.

How about experimentalists/overclockers? (Which I am not due to no $$$.)

I believe this Sempron X1 can hit 4GHz on air stock, and it may be possible to unlock it.

than do it...odds are we and you are going to find you the only resource availoible for the question your asking. "experimental overclockers" are a small group congrats your the only 1 at tpu to test this chip so try it out

it's budget CPU so need budget MOBO with it not that with SB750 ..
U can make amazing deal with 45$ MOBO ASRock N68-S (that support this CPU)

SB 750 and SB710 right now, pretty much all the new 700-series boards use them now.

or

G31 + Dual Core Celeron + HD4350 = about 110€

AMD is still a bit far-fetched and not a lot faster!
