Ok before i go into this, i have seen it in small cases on fallout 3 before and other games but im not quite sure whether its major.

Atm when i am in mount and blade in some areas if i look at something i will see flashing tiny grey squares, please help shed some light on this, i dont think its my 4870 1gb, ive looked after it very well so i cant see how it could be that, btw i am using windows 7 64bit now but i have played mount and blade on this OS already without noticing anything until now.

they could just be seams showing in the game engine - do they show in anything else?

no as far as i know ive only ever seen it this noticeable in fallout 3 when looking at certain areas.

Lol haha the reflection is really clear on this monitor, its like that sort of clear thin plastic stuff, ive just cleaned it lol

i've seen similar where seams show in some gaps, its literally gaps in the game world - driver optimisations, or antialiasing can make them appear, or appear bigger.


If you arent seeing it in other games, i'd assume the systems all good.

Hmm just fiddled with settings, the problem only appears on the map view of the game in mount and blade, when i engage in a battle showing the games full graphics potential i see none of these problems, im baffled

you cant print screen abnormalities like that, print screen will only print what is intended to be there, not what actually is there, for example a ball is your screen but is covered in these grey squares, it was intended to be just a ball. print screen will not see these abnormalities and print only what was intended.

the reason i ask is to find out in more detail about the problem you face.

AFAIK if it was output by the card like if game engine renders it wrongly, you can print-screen it.

have you tried the latest Catalyst?
