"to let u know i have a few problems with my Asus M4A79 that i to have rma it this monday for advanced replacement, asus tech support says my south bride chip is dieing that's why my onboard lan and pci slots are giving me issues, so maybe that's why this card runs hot"
-- may be that is the real problem. I am running a x600se on my server (that barely consumes 2w) is running blazing hot, the PCB is hot, any part you touch is hot. Earlier it had a passive small ass cooler on the vga chip, now I changed to a vantec cooler with a small dinky fan. I have cleared the neighbouring slots so air flow is there, also a 92mm fan is blowing right on top of it (never worried about cooling such a low end card lol). The south bridge chip is also blazing hot, you can't touch the HS and that is radiating inside the case. I bought it open box, so someone had a problem with this. also CPU area is hot as usual, but all the 4 sticks of mem run hot about 46C, had to put a fan on it. Other than these small issues the mobo run rock solid. I think all AMD chipsets run freaking hot. NV chipsets run cool
May be its time to change the mobo lol.
