We need to see some solid game benchmarks that compare stock clocks to these crazy overclocks. Better yet compare stock 5870 review benchmarks to what you guys are getting with these overclocks. I get my card tomorrow.

That's the point. You unlock the card to get it to higher clocks.

However for what I understand this will not allow you to unlock the shaders. However I can tell you on RE5 Benchmark tool I got around 15FPS bump.

I'm at work and can't do anything but I can tell you this is real. I have noticed huge improvement.

All I can say try it yourself. If you don't like it then bring the clocks to normal

A just a misunderstanding then. I thought u meant it was a shader unlock.
The bios flash just unlocks the OC limit to a higher value.

I've already unlocked my 5870.

i don't think with a "simple" bios flash we could unlocked sp, these are problaby hardware locked , but i would happy if i'm wrong

So all cards are "OC locked" but some Bios have that limit raised.

thx but try stressing with occt http://www.ocbase.com/perestroika_en/index.php?Download and use gpuz http://www.techpowerup.com/downloads/1665/TechPowerUp_GPU-Z_v0.3.6.html to monitor your temps on the gpu and vrm. Let me know I want to see how well my accelero compares to the stock cooler vrm temps.

Ups sorry...Didnt think before posting...I always Biosmodded my cards so i never bothered with CCC oc limits!
Another question is,this driver level "LOCK" means that even with CCC uninstalled,like when using riva tuner u cant OC past a limit that the display driver sets?

no it's only how far the sliders go in ccc, and apparently the msi oc tool uses ccc limits too

if i started another thread with 3dmark benchmarks for the 5xxx Series how many of you would follow my rules? that was the problem with my 4xxx thread, nobody followed my guidlines and everyone made it so hard to keep up with what was posted and i scrapped it. Im hoping that if i start this new therad, like my previous ones, people can follow the rules. I want it in this format
