Has anyone used this utility? Asus Smart Doctor

Wondering if it works with any brand.

I'm looking at the pic and there are some crazy voltages.

On this article they were using it.

Maybe someone could explain this to me..... I've read somewhere that you don't even have to unlock the BIOS. I thought In order to get past the clock's on a 5850 all you had to do was to use ATI GPU Tool and MSI Afterburner at the same time. Now I do think to use the voltage on MSI Afterburner you have to unlock the BIOS.
But just to overclock my first statement should be true. If I'm wrong could someone tell me? Sorry I don't mean to jack this thread I'm just wondering because I'm still considering getting a couple 5850's. This might help me make my choice
Thanx

yeah use afterburner to adjust voltage and use amd gpu tool to adjust clocks, more of a hassle that way tho

Why do you say that. Would you have to reset the clocks each time you boot or something?

I read that it will only work with the Asus HD5870 that supports the tweaking.

I have used this application for HD4770 after flashing it to Asus TOP HD4770 BIOS. Using RBE. AFter doing this the clocks speeds are unlocked and works perfectly with the Smart Dr. software and CCC for HD4770.

That is exactly what I wanted to see.

Huge increase in temps from idle to full load.

Very nice core speed and speed on the ram as well. Very impressive.

I wonder if aftermarket cooling would improve the stock cooling??

P17,000+ scores for single HD5850 is most impressive. 2 of these babies in Xfire should easily be able to do 30,000+ on 3dMark06.

I'd love to have that power.

Why can't they be withing my budget?!?!:banghead:

I'm going to have to settle for Xfire HD5770 P20,000+ Vantage if possible. :nutkick:

Interesting... Have you tried flashing with the Asus one? Just in case your car don't like the MSI one.

thanks for the reply man, I uninstalled my drivers and msi afterburner reinstalled the driver from msi and msi afterburner. NOW IT WORKS :D currently at 900/1200 with 1.2v:rockout:

now I have a different problem, whenever i run vantage I can see the fps increase but my final score is the same as stock for gpu. i think I need to format my computer and do a fresh install of windows. I also see fps increase in games too , just vantage gives me the same score after test is complete

any suggestion?:banghead:

I'm using a 64bit OS so I cannot use AtiFlash for an unlocked BIOS.
I used AMD GPU Clock tool and reached stable values 820/1200MHz.
Now I cannot find out how to make the program set those values after every PC boot.
Any advices?

Thanks

This is exactly my problem. I registered here so we can find an answer. I have 2 5850's that I can OC to 900/1200 with the MSI AB, AMD GPU CT combo. The problem is I have to set them at each reboot, which sucks.

Is there a way to get them to stick? So are you all saying that if I flash the bios on the cards I can just OC them to these levels in CCC? The MSI voltage settings stick on a reboot, the AMD GPU CT does not. If the answer is yes, can someone walk me through how I would flash the bios? I'm scared as I have these on water so there is no warranty anymore. Can I leave both cards in at the same time to do it or would they have to be one at a time? That alone would require me to flush my loop :(

Yes, I saw this but I have 2 cards... I don't think I can flash them unless I rip one out, which will be a massive pain in the a**. The thing works without the bios... it's just anoying to reset the clocks every boot....

I'm scared. So, if I use this command does all this happen in windows? What if it doesn't work? Are we sure it will work with the Diamond cards? Also, after the flash, which tools do I use to OC the cards? MSI? Will I need AMD GPU tool anymore? Also, I am running windows 7 64, will that have any changes on the procedure linked?

u should have another graphics card u can use. I failed my 1st attempt, cus the filename for the bios was too long. :/ I had to put in a 9600gt in my primary Slot and put the 5850 in the 2ndary slot to flash it.
