Just what the title says I am looking to build a PC for a friend. Just like everyone else he wants as good as a machine as he can get for his money. He will be using his 22" monitor and DVD/CD drives keyboard and mouse.
Budget: $800
Use: FPS Gaming and burns "some" movies.
Requirements: Full Tower Case
The rest is up to you as far as I know. :D

Possible add on hardware if it will fit the budget.

Case Antec NSK-4482 Orangified
Audio Device(s) X-Fi XtremeGamer
Power Supply Corsair TX750W
Software Windows 7: Electric Boogaloo
Motherboard: ECS Black AM3
Processor: Phenom II x3 720
Memory: 4GB G.Skill Ripjaws DDR3 1600MHz
Video Card: XFX 4770 1GB
Hard Drive: WD Caviar Black 750GB
Power Supply: Corsair TX750W
Case: CM Storm Scout
Total: $777
  • That extra $23 can be spent on a sound card of your or someone else's preference (I don't know much about them), or a Cooler Master Hyper 212 heatsink, which is about the best for the price.
  • I really don't see why he'd need a full tower, trying to get one to fit in the budget would require losing a lot of good features and quality. The Scout is a mid-tower, but it's plenty roomy, has tons of features, and is an excellent deal.
  • This computer will be completely crossfire ready, when one 4770 doesn't cut it anymore he can add another without any interferences. It'll also have a cool red-orange-black theme which will be hot.

Thanks for the suggestions keep em coming.:toast: I was playing around looking and over shot a little but I came up with this that could be trimmed some but after the rebates etc he would be closer. I still need a PSU for it though. Figured the Corsair TX750W one would be fine. Any other options are welcome or modifications to get the price down closer on this is fine. He may just go over a little. :D He doesnt need a full tower, he wants a full tower for future add ons etc. Seriously is the 5770 that good of a card? I could save a few bucks there as well. But the benches i looked at the 4890 was much better and I think he would drop $50.00 more to have the better card.

The 5770 is like a DX11 4870 I believe. I don't think you should drop $50 for the puny FPS increase. Why don't you leave yourself open to DX11 so you don't end up selling your 4890 later on just for DX11?

After doing some 5770 reading that might be a good alternative. Thanks.
