Universally compatible with the Intel 1156/1366/775 platforms in combination with the AMD AM3/AM2/940/939 platforms giving professionals and gamers a huge scope to utilize this impressive diablo. Another welcome new feature are the possibility of mounting two fans simultaneously for even better cooling results. Simply installed with the included Anti-vibe rubber fan mount s installation is made easy. This towering cooler is build to deliver the best thermal performance.

Main Features:
  • Five (5) 8mm all copper U-shaped direct touch heat-pipes
  • Straight lined heat-pipes allowing air to easily pass through
  • 46 stamped Aluminum wide fins for best surface rate
  • Black coated heat-sink to preserve killer looks from oxidation
  • Two (2) 120mm BlackStar 9 blade fan design
  • High Quality, Long MTBF Japanese Ball bearing
  • Anti-Vibe universal rubber fan mounting plugs
  • Supports 775/1156 & 1366 incl. Intel Core i7 Extreme 130W

5 heat-pipes, eh?

Next, a Vapor Chamber CPU cooler!

As much as I like the performance of these direct touch heatpipe coolers, the heatpipes take up too much room on the base and the ones on the sides won't even touch the IHS of the CPU. Either make one big solid heatpipe (like the vapor chamber) or squish the heatpipes closer together so there are no gaps. The only other option would be some kind of hybrid approach (like the Xigmatek Thor's Hammer) where some heatpipes are direct touch while others are set inside the middle of the base like normal.

The lateral 2 direct touch heatpipes are useless as they won't touch the cpu at all...

+1 ........... 3-pipe actual working .... nothing new

i wonder how it performs as i might replace my xiggy with this and throw on 2 of those fans for a bit more cooling power

They are for i7 procs (that are the 130W they talk about).
We aren't questioning its thermal conductive threshold, but rather it's physical construction. The base of this heatsink is wider than the IHS of even the biggest i7 processors so the two outermost heatpipes will hardly contact the processor (if at all) resulting in performance less than what you would expect if all 5 heatpipes were conducting heat.

I knew I had seen this cooler before..... http://www.tweaktown.com/reviews/2797/xtremegear_xtreme_cooler_hp_1216_cpu_cooler/index.html

If I'm not crazy its this cooler painted black?
That's it! Nice find :toast:
Here is the image we've all been waiting for:

i hate tweaktowns cpu cooler review structure

That is a nice cooler and being Spire, it will be cheaper than most. nice to see them come out with a decent cooler for once (never read the original spire, at least I do not think I have).

With a cooler of these I have courage to pay the amount that is announced
32.95 EURO

theres too many of these HDT coolers lately, the market is beyond saturated with them. Wonder when they'll have VCDT (Vapor chamber direct touch)... these would probably have a vapor chamber base and just alu fins extruded and fan bolted on top.

From the looks of it, the fans looks just like CM Sickle Flows :p

what about weight

My favourite tower cooler

I've been using an OEM version of this cooler for some time (same except for the fan and it's not nickel coated like this and the IceAge).

It's this is the one, it's £22 + VAT as part of our systems:

On 775 and 1156 you only get full contact with upto 4 heatpipes due to the smaller IHS but AM2 and 1366 CPUs cover more of the base plate.

Performance is not compromised and it cannot be beaten on price/performance and you can always get an extra 3-10C out of it with a pair of fans using the extra set of mounts provided. Preliminary testing shows that this cooler can take an i9 to 4GHz.

what about weight
730g
