Out of those cards the XFX GTX250, since it has the better warranty. Are you sure your PSU has enough 6 pin PCI-E connectors and/or enough amps on the 12v rail(s)?

Hmm. Not sure heres the PSU im getting.. Cooler Master Extreme 550WATS

i would avoid coolermaster PSU's. they have a pretty poor reputation around here.

that particular model has 2x 16A rails for the 12V power, which is insufficient for those video cards

question: why those cards? they're all old nvidia designs.

my reccomendation would be an ATI 5770, although just like the other cards, a new PSU would likely be needed

let me check the specs on that antec

single 40A rail for 12V, it destroys the cooler master.

Hmmm.. Can you tell me anything good about the Gigayte 1GB 5770 right now from that post i'm considering it with only a 20 buck difference.. So in total I'll be getting the

Antec Neo-Eco 520W

And a Gigobyte HD 5770 1GIG?

all 5770's are the same, minus sapphires vaporX edition (Which has some problems due to BIOS issues)

that PSU + video card sounds like a good combo to me

i whole heartedly agree 5770 would be a nice upgrade and that antec looks solid enough to me as well

its all fairly easy to do if your patient but if you dont feel comfortable doing it have the store do the psu upgrade and gpus are easy to install

just plug in the PCIe 6pin power plug (will be labeled PCIe ) into the card after you slot it into the PCIe x16 slot make sure to uninstall current display drivers completely then install the latest gpu drivers and then your all done

both parts are easy to install.

Video cards easy (take old one out, put new one in - dont forget the extra power plug at the rear)

PSU can be a little trickier, but an easy rule applies in your case: if you took a cable out from the old PSU, make sure one goes there from the new PSU

mussells gives you the gist of it ;) i suggest getting a junk computer from the dump and just pratice with the PSU u will find its not to bad the estabilished buisness make it seem harder then it is but in terms of being comfortable doing $25 aint that bad a price to pay if he wants it done then and there so to speak

so once he installs the psu for me there will be a dangling cable? and that cable goes into the back of the GPU?

I'm really surprised no one has mentioned the fact that most dell systems come with proprietry psu's specifically for their own motherboards, you need to be sure this isnt the case or its not going be as simple as swapping out the psu

good point i thought Dell stopped doing that awhile back i may be wrong i know my old XPS 410 i was able to swap the psu out of with ease when i sold it off for $800 twice what i paid for it but that was back around 2006 and Dell is known to cook up some fairly crazy ideas / proprietary ideas

I ran dual quad cores with a 8800GTS and four 15K disks off a Codegen 480W. You're fine with any crap brand 550W unless you have some exotic powerhungry hardware you're not mentioning.
