I have to agree here. You are limited on choices with matx boards, but the Gene is very good. Probably the 3rd best x58 board I owned.Very stable, and could handle a 212 BCLK no problem.

Once you place a Noctua 14 on top of it your can't see the board anyway. But I have to agree it is the best looker. Gene II is from I read a top notch board.

I like the looks of the evga the best, my case is going to be red hopefully. I may be getting a 5870 and of course keeping my 920

gene II why?
cause i love asus and evga sucks balls 4 780i boards till i got one from EVGA that worked. bought an asus P45 it took so long for them to replace it. MSI doesn't exist to overclocking outside of like 3 boards and they die fast when cold. DFI's last good amd board was s939 and NF4 last good intel board was LGA775 and it wasn't even the best yep they fell off the face of the earth.

i vote for the Rampage II Gene. I own the board and it seems to be great. Its a nice clocks tons of options in the Bios and looks nice. Also it doesn't really run hot like some of the other X58 boards

also you can pick how many Phases you want running. You can turn some off for stock or underclocked and use fullphase for some kick ass overclocks

I'm an ASUS lover, so I voted Gene II naturally. Why? Because it overclocks just as well as the P6T Deluxe.

If going with the stock heatsinks, the GENE is the best board. I am happy with my MSI X58M though. It's more plain and lacks the nicer heatsinks (no heatsinks around the MOSFETs) but it gets a clean overclock to the upper 3GHz range. That GENE though? Whew! That's a nice board. I'd have gotten one if I wasn't so cheap but I have no regrets with what I got. Oh yeah -the sound card in the GENE is decent too but that was of no concern for me anyway (got an X-fi already). As it goes, all the X58 boards are enthusiast grade stuff.

I cant believe there are only 4 mATX X58 motherboards. Anyways, I'd go with the Gene for all of the aforementioned reasons. Though, I do prefer the color schemes of the other ones over the Gene's.

I ran the EVGA board for a few months. Great board, only sold it because I get bored easily.

It took my W3520 to almost 4.6 for benching and ran daily at 4.2. You wont be disappointed if you go with it.

To be honest there is going to be very little performance difference b/t any of these boards. After owning numerous x58 board, I know this for sure. So, honestly, it's things like which board handles memory better. What board has a better layout, and which bios is better. All of the boards are capable of clocking the snot out of a 920.

All these boards are same layouts basically. if they are honestly the same, i'll probably go evga as it is cheaper and i like the red/black theme

I say EVGA. I feel Asus has gone downhill a little during X58. Too bad Gigabyte doesn't have an mATX x58 board, They have been kicking X58 ass.

I wish they did, i would buy it in a heart beat. I love my ud5, but im just going small now ;)

Im going for EVGA except i HATE where the 8pin is. its annoying as freckin heck. Thats the only complaint.

My vote goes to the RII GENE, although I have not used other mATX X58 boards. I can tell you about the RIIG,

PROS: very solid board, looks great, overclocks great, performance is very satisfying, tons of bios options for tweaking, Asus does offer advanced replacement on this board, SLI and Crossfire support, SupremeFX X-Fi built-in (although software emulated still great for those non audiophiles), price, support for upcoming Westmere (last 2 bios updates was for new CPU support) and I'm sure there's a couple of things I forgot to mention as well.

Cons: NB runs HOT actually needed to add a small 40mm fan to help keep temps decent, lcd poster (to me at least, kinda pointless) I think that's really it for cons, as you can see the pros heavily out weigh the cons on this board.

Terrible for OC'ing RAM. I've been told that and I've experienced it myself when I still had my RIIG.

Forgot to mention but yes I think I would have to agree.... That is the reason why I'm running my ram at lower than rated speed but with tighter timings. I tried once or twice to get to 2GHz (which is only a 134MHz OC) with no go but I'm still very content.
