a) my first pc was in 1986. my family bought a Tandy 1000 EX. It was uber leet as you can see by the following pic :rockout:

https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/8/80/Tandy1000HX.jpg

no harddrive, but it did have the 3.5 FDD which was WAY ahead of its time.

b) the first pc i built was a 450mhz intel with 128 megs of ram and a solid aopen motherboard. it had an 8 meg ati graphics card as well.

thats exactly what mine looked like. I played king quest and load runner on it most of the time.

my first PC was a Pentium-S 90Mhz with 64MB RAM I got that in 2000 and it was crap then but i loved it. I used to uninstall programs by deleting the folders rather than using the uninstall utility. I also used to delete system files willy-nilly on Windows ME... So it had the Down Time equivalent of ENIAC.

First PC i built was my current one

first PC

Pentium 90
16MB EDO ram
4.3GB quatum fireball
256KB video card (trio S3 i think)

first build... hmmmm.

iirc, it was my next system after that. would have been around 10.

Celeron 400A (could OC to 600MHz, but my mobo sucked so i barely got 450)
128MB of PC100 SDram
4.3GB quantum (recycled)
10Mb ISA network card
4MB barely 3D video card, couldnt run quake 3. :( went GF4 MX440 after a few years for Q3

I put the whole thing together, drivers OS and all, except for the front panel header on the mobo. power, reset, them things. dad sucked at it, so i never learned how from him.

That was a hardcore machine!!!

My first build I still have.....
AMD Athlon x2 +5000
Gigabyte GA-MA78GM-S2H
4 Gigs Corsair 800Mhz RAM
Western Digital 500gig HDD
HIS ATI 1650XT.... then upgraded to HIS 2900XT.... then upgraded to Sapphire 3850..... then upgraded to 8800GTX LOL
Corsair 550TX then moved to OCZ 700Modxstream
Case a ugly Ultra piece of crap then upgraded to an even ugly no name piece of crap with a window and a ugly front bezel (God I had bad taste at one time!!! Who really though a alien head on the side window really looked that cool! LMFAO!)

But that was my first one..... overclocked that baby to 3.2ghz! Also my first overclock! If I remember later I will post a pic of it.

First computer was an Apple IIe. Played this text football game on in, and some kind of text based role playing game. The first system that I ever built was a Athlon 4000+/Epox 754 based rig. Damn, I miss Epox.

Back in middle school, I learned how to type on an Apple IIe. I remember playing Pitfall a lot as well back then on the old 5.25" floppies. :p

That was the first computer I ever got to use. My grandparents bought one brand new back in 1987. I played Dungeons and Dragons constantly on that old machine. Wow, you guys are really bringing back some memories!

my first computer was the Commodore VIC 20

my first custom was a P4 northwood 2.6, some ASUS motherboard, 2 gig ddr 400 ram and a x800 video card. Gave that system to a friend, and to this day, it's still in use.

Mine was a brand spanking new P2 HP that I bought because a friend of mine was playing Geoff Crammonds Grand Prix 1 on his rig and I wanted that game so badly but had to buy the PC to play it.

Being passionate about PC's ever since. Starting building my own when I couldn't play certain games because my rig was not up to date to play certain games

First computer was a 286 with the memory built on the motherboard. The games were all on the old 5.25 floppy drive disks. We bought a 10MB hard drive (that was HUGE) later on. My first build was a 486SX that ran at 25mhz with 4 gigs of memory and a 20MB hardrive. I still have my 486SX in the closet, the last time I pulled it out it would still run (WIN 3.1) Those were the days.

My first PC was a PC Chips based system built by a computer store. 256 MB DDR, 40GB Western Digital and an all conquering 1.4 GHz Willamette Pentium 4, NOT!!. Had to have the motherboard replaced and had numerous issues with the thing for the duration of the time I had it. I started to learn about computers and what it took to build them and vowed never to buy a system fully assembled. I have kept that vow thus far. Made some upgrades to that system by getting an ASUS board and my first video card, an ASUS Geforce2 MX 400.
The first system I built from scratch was based on the venerable nForce 2 ultra chipset (Abit AN7) with a Barton Athlon 2500+. I stepped up to 512MB in dual channel baby, lol. Had a radeon 9550 which I modded to the 9600 using the TPU guide. Oh the memories...... I love this place:toast:

First build: 386DX @40MHz, 4 megs of 32 pin SIMM memory, sound blaster-16, Trident VGA with 1 meg of DRAM (I think it was DRAM), Creative 2x CD-ROM, DOS 6.0, Windows 3.1, 5 1/4" and 3 1/2" floppies, 14" .28mm CRT monitor with 1024x768... Good times! Even crazier is that my CPU that went on an Intel socket was made by AMD. A 486 could have come from Intel, AMD, or Cyrix back in those days...
It was a great build for when I was 12-13 years old. The only time it sucked was when I saw how my friend's 486DX2-66 ran Doom infinitely better than my PC. I was heartbroken.
