I was reading up on different combinations on crossfire from the AMD site and could find no information on 4730 crossfire capability and so my combination was experemental and didn't work both cards are read but the second card is disable and no options for crossfire in CCC so I guess there not compatible.

If I swaped the cards around would this make a difference u think or should I just forget trying THANKS!:banghead:

I dont think you looked hard enough :) This is from the ATi site and it seems the 4770 can only crossfire with another 4770

You can't crossfire a HD 4770 with a 4730. In order to crossfire different cards, they have to be based on the same GPU. The 4730 is based on a cut-down 55nm RV770 whereas the 4770 is based on the 40nm RV740.

http://game.amd.com/us-en/content/images/crossfirex/CF_combo_chart.jpg

The problem is that the HD4730 isn't listed on the chart.

Up until the release of the HD4700 series, with different GPU cores, it has always been said that to crossfire you just need cards from the same series. ie: Cards from the HD4800 series crossfire together, cards from the HD4600 series crossfire together, etc.

ATi really made it confusing, and hasn't really helped by providing limitted information. The consumer isn't supposed to know what core the card actually has. These cards have been out for months, and AMD still hasn't added them to the crossfire chart, and it is situations like this where the chart is specifically needed...
