Not a big loss, us folders would still make great use out of two or three of these. I don't think Quad-SLi really scaled that well anyway...

Though maybe SLi over the PCI-E bus...but who would want to do that...

Since, TIGR responded with "That's a shame!", I'm inclined to believe that he requires Quad-SLI. And SLI over PCI-E bus doesn't work for G92 cards.

I'm sure you've been around here long enough to know that GPU-z labels all the G92 cores are 65nm, as it has no way of telling the difference.

shhhhhh don't tell em

always ruining my fun

In fairness, I think its a nice idea for a budget card... or a fairly powerful Phsyx card.

Ridiculous that it has no SLI feature though.

Haha I don't require it ... I just like to be able to put as much of the GPU power I've got at my disposal to work at once, when I switch from Folding to gaming for a bit. I should really benchmark the difference between two-way and quad SLI. Common knowledge says it doesn't scale well at all.

512MB? useless. anyone who needs extra GPU power of a dual GPU card, isnt going to want to run at a resolution that 512MB can handle...

this card is 2 years too late.

512MB is more than enough for anything up to 1080p.

Too bad this card is going to outperform your 260 in pretty much all real world games...

You mean one of those cards with a single slot cooler, and stock clock speeds?

Yeah, I've played with one...I stand by my statement. This card performs at GTX275 level both stock, yes the GTX260 can overclock to beyond those speeds, but both the GTX275 and this GTS250 can overclock also...

Ever heard of a 9800GX2? Basically the same card and came out a couple years ago. The GTX 280 had a hard time with it. This card can potentially be faster than the 9800 due to the shrink (better OC).

Yep, the 9800GX2 and this GTS250 will perform identically.

Because I saw it brought up—my 9800GX2s with only 512MB of usable memory play my games fine at 1920x1200. I would like to be able to double that memory, but for the right price, another card with dual G92s (especially with the die shrink) would be a nice option. And what with all the excess G92s that seem to be hanging around, hopefully their is adequate incentive to price the card very competitively. I'm not saying they will, just saying they could, and all these G92s could be put to good use.

One would hope that with NV's new cards out, that would push down the prices. But, as of today Galaxy (not one of NV's top selling partners) at least in USA, is still charging 150.00 for a 250Gts at newegg. There is a rebate, but that is if you actually recieve it.
I personally have no knowledge of Galaxy cards, have never bought one. Anyone care to tell me if they are any good. If so, and if this where set at the 150.00-170.00 I think it woould be great.

Yep, the 9800GX2 and this GTS250 will perform identically.
the slight lead in perormance may go to the 250's if it comes with good ram.
ram on both my base evga 250's easly go 1300.
my gx2 or 98gtx,+ never came with ram rated that high, althuogh the cores ran the same on the 98gtx+ (820-840) as the 250's with same stock volts of 1.18 3d.
now that brings us back to the gx2,which came with 1.15v 3d. if they give the 250x2 1.15v
it will run the same speed,if its cooled betterl on the single pcb maybe alittle faster o/c's.

anyway what i'm trying to say is if the 250x2 comes with fast ram it will be slightly faster then the gx2.

and on the other hand it does not look like you can use riva for I2C to add volts on this 250x2
as for price
how could you think it would be much lower then $250 usd? you cant get a set of 88gtx's on ebay for much less then $200 now a days.:slap:

i just want to rent this card a few days :D

I'd also like to say my single 4870 is fine at 1920x1080 with 512mb.

This card is ok if the price is right.

It's funny you mention Galaxy because a few months ago Galaxy was selling these cards like hotcakes for $40 after an $80 rebate. ;)

internal SLI?

Even at that most it could do would be Tri SLI. Tri SLI barely offers any benefit anyway. =/

internal SLI?

Yes, the two GPUs have an internal SLI, but the card itself can't have an SLI with another of its kind (like 9800 GX2 QuadSLI).

i meant SLI between two separate cards without the SLI bridge?

Benchmark Scores Not a Bench machine only OC'd cuz it's in my blood. This is boarderline over-kill for my needs, but
i meant SLI between two separate cards without the SLI bridge?

I think I understand. I can't remember how long ago, but I do recall reading about "Software SLI"???? not positive though. Where the cards do run SLI w/out the bridge, but don't scale quite as well.
