Download win 7 and burn to disc. please help

About to buy this but I don't know the first thing about downloading an OS and burning it to a cd to install it.

Is it difficult?
Is this like burning to an iso?
I have no experience with doing the whole iso thing, i don't even know wth an iso is..lol

Anyone have any insight on the digital download and installment of an os?
I'm a bit clueless here. XD

it IS burning an iso. Use ISOBurn; makes it easy.

I saw reviews as well, just makes me nervous because the pages look shoddy lol..
so 64 bit aye..
always scared me but i hear it's great.
I'll get a 4th stick of ram for it as well i suppose.
One thing worries me.
i always see people having gaming problems saying "i have win 7 or vista 64 bit" lol.
is that the case often or is it generally user caused you think?

I'd like to step up to 64 if it's as reliable.

64-bit problems are old. They are usually from people who don't have the latest drivers. Lately, I've been finding most users of Win7 with problems just haven't even applied their Updates yet. Remember, Windows Update is your friend.

Once you have ActiveISO installed it pretty much recognizes what you are doing and does it automatically.

I find it funny that you're currently not running in dual channel mode.

Basically, DDR2 is used in kits of two to achieve dual channel mode... yeah...

I guess you're about to get that dual channel mode now.

Me, I'm running 2x1 and 2x512 to achieve my 3GB, rollin dual channel mode =)

Running this isoburn now.
It's been going for quite a while and still at 0%.
Is that normal?
I ejected the disk after about 30 min to an hour last time and the disc ended up with 3.75 out of 4 gigs on it..lol..
wish I had waited.
But again there is no progress representation that is accurate for this software?

You might want to try infrarecorder, I've found that to be pretty easy to use from the start just select the make a boot disk option (can't remember it off the top of my head), open, find the iso file, open it up and burn the CD or DVD, managed to get it done in about 10 minutes including installing the software.

Ok I'll try that, this active iso thing seems pretty bad imo.
Been sitting here over an hour and it still says 0%...

4 gigs in 10 min?
That seems unlikely.

2 discs wasted and 2 hours with that active iso..

I would google windows vista/7 thumbdrive install...used it before but don't have the link on hand


first you'll format a 4-8gb thumbdrive
then using the iso copy files to to the drive

installs faster, no cds

I'm getting no light from my burner but I hear the cd spinning.
idk wth is going on.
no progress with this iso burner yet either...

EDIT: Turns out my dvd drive sucks badly.
Put in my brothers and bam, it started up no problem.
this is a samsung dvd rw drive that I payed good money for.
A sata dvd r/w and this working one I had to put in is a stock dell cd drive..
and it works, but mine doesn't again..
this has happened with games to.
I hate you samsung..
Never buying samsung again.

Arg, ok it burnt the iso to a disc.
I burnt it as an image file, not a data file or anything else.

That disc should now be a bootable disc as I understand it..
I hope I got this right..lol.
