Just bought a 2TB Samsung HDD, and I formatted it and assigned it a drive letter, then dropped info on it. But now it seems to be getting errors, when I start windows it says "3rd Master Hard Disk: S.M.A.R.T. Status BAD"

I am once again formatting it and will see this after noon, but this is a new HDD and I never seen this error, so a bit confusing, anyone got some tips?

Could be a bad one in the batch. I would read up the SMART info (HD tune is a good program for that) and if they are bad, then rma it.

yea i got a seagate 1.5tb drive brand new and no more than a week the smart status was bad and it started doing the slow clicks so it went back to seagate just to get another one that the platter motor died in 2 months. I will probly only use western digital from now on.
