Hi Guys,

Need suggestions regarding a good radiator. I plan to include two desktops. Both have OCed i7s running at 3.9 GHz stable. So in the loop would be 2 i7s, 2 9800Gtx, one NB WB. I also have a dead Zalman Reserator V2(Tower) which is also my current radiator. I plan to put one more in the loop. All these would be driven by a Swiftech MCP 655 pump.

Without the second i7 and second 9800GTX, the temps are already reachin 70 Deg C on the CPU and 60 Deg C on the GPU on full load (Folding) Ambient is 34 Deg C cos AC is switched off.

I want to put all these in series (One loop!!).;)

Thnx,
Shiv

I don't have the answer, but I'm subbing to this thread because I want to know too. Thinking of going same route.

I would setup two loops for each system. Your dissapating a lot of Wattage of power and heat so a PA 120.3 is a good starting point. If you want a single loop for both machines go with the Mora Pro 2. Its a single 9x120mm rad that can handle an entire setup. It costs as much as 2 rads but works very well.

I can't really find them for sale anywhere, but what about those Feser Monsta's?

I will only advise on what I have physically used. This is a three and a half hour bench run with a 920 DO using the MORA. (with poor fannage btw)

What fans would be best to use on these rads? I prefer the 120mm.

I will leave fan advice to the fan experts. I am half deaf and immune to even my 110cfm units.

Cant go wrong with the Sycthe Gentle Typhoon's. Very highly recommended. Here's a review by Mad Shrimps and gives a video and breakdown of voltages, CFM, and dB.

Tons of fans reviewed too by the way. I used some S-Flex's that I got from Sidewinders: 5 for $60. Check em out:

The XSPC RX radiators are very nice. I'm using a 120 with an Antec double ball bearing fan at 2000 rpms. Can barely hear it when pulling air through the radiator inside the case. Some fans rated at similar dBA will have an annoying high pitch. Noticed this with sleeved fans usually.

I think thick rads are worth the extra money. Getting some of those Swiftech stackers really dont preform like a single rad. So larger rads like the XSPC, Thermochill, TFC(Feser), or even EK's are worth the extra money.

my advice is

XSPC RX 360 ( simply the best, perfect for low rpm fans 800-1300 rpm are perfect )
or

Phobya G-Changer 360 Ver. 1.2 Black ( also mine, excellent price/performance same construction as RX360 but a little cheaper )

And remember micro fins rads means, you need 1600 to 2000 rpm fans to push = high noise.

OK Guys!! I did my loop as I mentioned earlier.

Rad1: XSPC RX480 Quad Rad
Rad2: Dead Zalman Reserator (using it as a reservoir as well)
Rad Fans: 1 Scythe Ultrakaze, 3 X Zalman ZM-F3 120mm case fans
i7 Water Block1: EK Supreme HF Acetal Nickel
i7 Water Block2: Zalman ZM-WB5
9800GTX GPU Block1: EK 9800GTX Acetal
9800GTX GPU Block2: EK 9800GTX Nickel
Gigabyte Northbridge Water Block
Pump: Swiftech MCP655 w speed Controller at max speed
Tubing: Feser 3/8" Tubing
Accessories: Thermaltake flow indicator w inline temp sensor

Now I use these rigs for folding and crunching 24/7.
CPU1: 3.9 GHz
CPU2: 3.8 GHz
Overclocked shaders on the GPUs

Temps (Degree Centigrade)

Tambient: 30-34 Deg
CPU1: 63 Deg
CPU2: 74 Deg
GPU1: 53 Deg
GPU2: 55 Deg
Coolant Temp:38.5 Deg

I will upload a pic of the setup. But my setup is something like this

Rig1- XSPC RAD- RIG2- Zalman Res ...Very limited space in between them. Cant increase the space between them as currently I dont have any more tubing left:rolleyes:

Loop flow

Pump-CPU WB1-NB WB-GPU1 WB-GPU2 WB- CPU2WB-Zalman Res-XSPC Rad-Pump

What do u guys think? Any suggestions to lower the temps??

For this XSPC rad, which is the best 120mm fan?

Also all the fans are pushing in air into the rad. If I were to put fans on the other side of the rad in the opp dir so that it pulls out the air the fans on the other side are pushing, would it make any diff?

Appreciate all your suggestions!!

Cheers,
Shiv
