new mp3 player, what to get

I have an old Zune 30G it has treated me good but recently it has been on the fritz(I got it like 5 years ago) so now I am looking into new mp3 players and don't really know what to get, I am looking for something mainly that will have apps in the future and can output hd res videos to my tv, moddability is a big+ for me.

I have been looking into the Zune HD but I have heard of problems with the screens going bad on them.

Cowon always make decent portable players with excellent features. Most of their models are quite durable and sound great. Their new S9 might be for you but I cannot remember if it can output HD content.

get the zune thats not an HD but has the touch pad. i have one and its a 120GB and i love it!

I told a friend of mine in CN that I was looking for one and he has a shitload of those MP4 players made in china, he said he would send me one, its one called the Aiwon 8000HDY(I think thats what he said) he said it had a 7 inch screen and hdmi output and that it was pretty good, and hes sending to to me for free(gotta pay shipping though), so im gonna get it, strip it down and tell you all if its a POS or not, I always was told they were crap.

I personally have an IPod Touch, it's a great device imo.

. Never tried a Zune, but they looks pretty sweet to.

I have a Creative Zen X-Fi, good sized memory with room for expansion + absolutely brilliant interface for large amounts of music.

I second the recommendation for Creative Zens - clean interface, handy extras and very good sound quality. I bought mine directly from the manufacturer (mine was a discountinued model, they also have good discounts on refurbished units etc). Linky
