Sapphire HD 4870 temperature issue

Hi,

I've recently flashed my GPU's BIOS with RBE because I did not like the way my fan was working (fluctuating when on load). I used recommend settings (optional tab in RBE fan's settings menu). Everything works fine now but not sure about temp i get when on load. I stressed it for 20 min with Furmark ( stability, extreme burning mode) and that the temps I got:

According to GPU-Z:

GPU temp - 80 Celsius

Dispio temp - 81 Celsius

Memio temp - 90 Celsius

ShaderCore temp - 88 Celsius

Fan speed 50% (max)

Are they normal? Or is everything up to 100 C normal for GPU's as I've heard somewhere?
By the way does anyone know how these recommended fan settings in RBE work? Are they standard for all GPU's or RBE recognizes the model and suggests settings acordingly? Thanks.

OK I googled the internet a bit and found some reviews on this card. Could have done this before opening this forum though :). Anyways, for those who have some temp issues with this card:

Official max GPU temp - 80 Celsius (when playing game "Test Drive"or something like that) but not when stressing it with particular programs for such matter which definitely would give higher temps.

The important one temp is GPU temp. The other sub-sectors like memio temp and shader core temp are ideal being under 100 Celsius ( actually not sure about shader core temp).

As official review for this card states it idles at 70 Celsius and its normal. Anyways I flashed vBios using RBE with recommended fan settings and have 53 Celsius when idling with fan spinning at 40%

Lets hope it will work fine....

What are your idle temps? I would boost that fan speed up a bit when at full load. Those temps are pretty hot:(

When idling temps are something like that:

GPU temp - 53

memio temp - 56

shader core - 55

fan - 40%

Well non of the games would stress GPU as much as particular programs like furmark which are designed for this matter. Temps would be lower by at least 10 degrees Celsius when playing any of the game. After reading some reviews I don't worry about temps anymore. After all if u don't experience PC crashes, reboots, black screens when on load than it's good to go.
