Hello! I know 30$ isn't much, But I am a third year Medical Student and broke hardly begins to describe it >< BUT! you still have to enjoy your hobby right? About to play Batman and want to enable Physx. Thanks for looking.

Dont know if that will cut it? I was under the impression that a 9600gso was the minimum for good performance. Any thoughts TPU'rs?

I would recommend any card with at least 96 shader units. The 8600 I believe is 32 shader units.

PhysX takes next to nothing to run, an 8600GT or anything with 32+ Shaders will do just fine. I think I would aim for something with at least 48 Shaders just to make sure you are good for the future though.

I want to avoid a bottle neck of the 5850 crossfire obviously. I think the 9600 plus family will be my best bet

Price/Performance ratio? A lot better with the $40 8800GT than a $30 8600GTS.

Because the numbers don't indicate performance, they are just model numbers indicated what series the card belongs to, and what teir in that series they are. Just like an HD5450 isn't better than an HD4850.
