Corsair, a worldwide designer and supplier of high-performance components to the PC gaming hardware market, today announced that it was once again selected as 2010's Best PSU and Best Memory Manufacturer by the readers of Custom PC magazine and bit-tech.net, two of the most respected technology publications in the United Kingdom.

The awards were voted for by Custom PC and bit-tech's audience of performance PC enthusiasts, overclockers and gamers. Choosing the companies they judged to have excelled in 2010, Corsair emerged as the clear victor in both the power supply and memory categories.

"We are extremely proud to have been voted Best PSU Manufacturer for the fourth year in a row by the knowledgeable readers of Custom PC and bit-tech," said Jim Carlton, VP of Marketing at Corsair. "This award emphasizes Corsair's position as the leading manufacturer of quality PSUs, and we'd like to thank our loyal customers for continuing to choose Corsair."

Corsair was also chosen Best Memory Manufacturer for the second year running, for its famous XMS, Dominator, and Dominator GT memory modules. "Memory has always been one of Corsair's core strengths. And while we are expanding into new markets, including audio with the Corsair Gaming Audio Series HS1 USB Headset, we have not stopped investing in technology to develop the world's fastest and best memory modules." added Carlton.

The winners of all 13 Custom PC and bit-tech.net awards are published in issue 89 of Custom PC magazine, on sale 16 December 2010, and can also be found online at www.bit-tech.net.

:slap: OCZ does not even come close to these guys in my opinion. OCZ cant even send a rebate check back to there customers, and I find there forum to be a mess. :shadedshu

Corsair has the Best Customer Service ever in my opinion. I find the guys in the forums that work for them to be very nice and helpful. Not to mention there RMA process it the best and fastest as well.

My only gripe is I think they should listen to there customers request. I posted a poll on there new AX series PSU requesting that they make some SHORT (htpc) REGULAR (stock) LONG (Tower cases) cables for the customers can purchase on there own and pay extra for them to help make it easier to fit in cases.

Never used Corsair memory but I'm definitely inclined to in future builds from all the positive reviews and user-experiences I've read and been told.

What did they rebrand? OEM does not count as a rebrand, because everybody uses OEM's nowadays. Its too costly to fab your own products.

Suprised ebuyer didn't win the best etailer, perhaps I should spend more time looking around

I like eBuyer and have only had one minor issue which technically wasn't their fault but with the courier they used. Still, the more people that vote the better, looks like we'll have to wait until next year.

Yes, which is why I would not call them a "manufacturer" of power supplies, maybe a reseller, but not a manufacturer.

Last I checked, GM, ford, etc. fabs their own vehicles, and Intel fabs their own silicon, so your statement is not entirely true.

All I am saying is credit should be given where its do.

Going by your logic, NVIDIA and AMD are "resellers", and TSMC is a manufacturer of graphics processors. So TSMC always wins as the best GPU "manufacturer". Now that's obviously not the case, you know why.

The reason Corsair, OCZ, or SilverStone are called "manufacturers" is because they design their PSUs, and make foundry partners (such as CWT, Flextronics, or Seasonic) manufacture according to their designs, choice of components, and specifications. This is the reason why Corsair's Seasonic-made PSUs, for example, are qualitatively better than Seasonic PSUs it sells under its own channel brand.

The AX1200W is obviously not designed by Flextronics, it's only manufactured by it, Flextronics is just a foundry partner, just like TSMC is to NVIDIA. Otherwise, Flextronics would make a loot selling such an awesome PSU.

I think you'll find all car manufacturers have parts outsorced to other companies, so your statement is not entirelly true.

Editorial Award for Technical Innovation - Electronic Arts
The first of two awards decided by the staff, the Technical Innovation Award this year went to Electronic Arts, who won for the way the Frostbite Engine allows level destruction in Bad Company 2. EA won against Danamics (liquid metal cooling), Intel (Clarkfield), Nvidia (Fermi) and Sandforce (SSD controller).

EA???? my arse, my pick for technical innovation of this lot would be sandforce hands down

I must admit the fact that i currently have a corsair branded PSU, cooler and ram in my system must mean something... possibly that scan mainly has corsair ram but still

Apart form the builder series of PSU's i have a lot of faith in corsairs products and customer service, although the latter is greatly to do with the fact that multiple people who have had a H50 leak and kill their pc have had it replaced by corsair and that's not just the cooler, it's all the parts that were killed by the coolers death.

The same would apply to AMD as globalfoundries makes their cpu's (yes i count them as fully separate company's now).

Is there even a serious challenger in the PSU side?

Seasonic, Enermax Revoltion series, some Antec models, maybe a few more. Can't think of one that puts out consistent Corsair-quality stuff though.

I'm glad they won, I've had nothing but great experiences with all of my Corsair products.

But for people who don't OC, memory is memory is memory. The only difference between funcional models for us is the speed, price, & warranty.

Other than Seasonic, until today, I haven't found any PSU with CWT/Flextronics brand

it's CORSAIR name on the product, not CWT, not Flextronics, not Seasonics. Even Corsair paid for their UL Number for this.

And I should say, that corsair get the best psu NOT from their budget series of psu. That line is just sucks
