Most extreme stability test?

A certain program keeps locking up on me, and I want to run a very extreme stability test to ensure it's not my system being unstable, rather something in the program. What's the very best, most stressful out there? I'm thinking of running the OCCT PSU test overnight, about 10 hours... runs OCCT GPU and Linpack all at once.

Wouldn't it be easier to run the program @ stock clocks rather than run a stability test for so long?

No. The problem is intermittent and seems to show signs of issues even at stock (will stutter badly but not actually lock up), and even when overclocked will let me play for 2 hours sometimes, or crash after 5 minutes.

OCCTs linpack test is a true monster. combine it with furmark if you want to make your CPU, GPU, memory/memory controller and PSU squeal.

for Intel processors up to quad cores, "Intel Burn Test" will literally crush your processor.

Its the strongest Stability testing program I have ever used in my whole OC'ing life. Compared to Prime 95, Intel burn test crushes it in comparison.

1 hour of 100% Prime 95 = a 1 Minute pass on Intel burn test.

Intel burn test will make sure your over-clock is so stable, that it will never crash a day on your life at the settings you choose. Your realize how beast Intel burn test is, when a overclock that you thought was stable, FREEZEZ ON YOU IN 1 minute.

Very tuff program. They call it intel burn test, because it heats your cpu 10c more then any other stress program.

But only used on quad cores.

So no quad cores with HT, like i7's.

I'm over IBT, even on max. It just made shit hot. OCCT large data set get's me just as hot, but actually catches errors.

intelburntest, linX and OCCT's linpack all use the same core when it comes to the stressing. i'm sure more do as well.

Try do the test again, but use "Maximum" on the intel burn test options.

same can be said for OCCT. you've made an unfair comparison there. set both to their hardest ass settings and see what happens.

Passed nearly 11 hours of OCCT Linpack (it didn't error, I just aborted it when I got up). Darkplaces still crashes (intermittently).

also on ibt if you right click the "start" buttong and go on xtreme burning mode it heats more and tests faster. also i7 cpu's/hyperthreaded cpu's absolutely do run on IBT you just need to manually set the amount of cores/threads. that occt psu tester is not good for the psu's it will kill them. I wont run it anymore, it ate 2 of my psu's within a month

If I want to stress CPU and memory and hurt my system bad, I tend to run both OCCT (for memory) and Intel burn test for CPU at the same time.... if you were really enthusiastic you could try adding Furmark to that also but that may be going a little too far! ..... just make sure you have a Fire extinguisher handy

For me, all testing apps must be passed, that includes, IBT, OCCT, etc.

Just clicking "RUN" isn't testing properly, however. You really need to "customize" how you test your pc in order to be able to properly diagnose what causes crashes.

If you do not understand how an app is testing, then you'll never have any real luck in finding stability. Any claims that one app is better than another highlights something pretty important, and it's NOT that one app is better than another.
