Fan monitor/control

Is there any good software for monitor/control fan's?
Pls dont answer whit Speed Fan, i dont like it.
Im looking for something to control cpu and sys fan's, with multiple profiles.
I have a Gigabyte mobo based on nforce 520LE, EasyTune is

Why not just buy a fan controller like these : Scythe At the same time, it looks better than any software will look like!

PC's must be controlled by software, not by mechanical devices.

I found Gigabyte's Easy Tune 5 Pro to be very different from ver. 6, in pictures at least
I'll try it when i go home from work.

if just monitoring you could use samurize, it shows the working component in your pc

Just tested " samurize " that's an terrible awkward made application that you have to build anything like users interface from scratch , like building an home with LEGO ..
Last update was at 2008 , with what ever this has to do about fresh hardware support.

sorins , you can not control fan speeds on you motherboard with out having the proper hardware .. Yes hardware .

Those Gigabyte boards have only control over the latest PWM fans ,
and with simple words, you can control every fan that has 4 pin plugs.

Check first your motherboards manual ...

The Genuine Intel fan CPU fan ( 4 pins ) it can be controlled with the ET6 software PWM software controller.
(CPU header )

The SYS FAN2 ( PWM ) ( 4 pins ) it offers only 5V , and so its good only for an small north-bridge fan ...

The SYS FAN1 has only three pins , and so there is no automatic speed control.

And the same goes for PWR-FAN

Check the users manual of your motherboard .

If you have different specs, post them here ...

Instead of other expensive solutions , I suggest those fans ( 120mm) , I have two of those.

They have the "best ever " well adjusted sensors sensitivity , and they work independently.

I have stuck both of those sensors on the fins of my graphic card , and they work at max speed only when truly needed.
Currently they running both at 700 RPM = just whispering as noise .

I have the GV-1000 , got it for my HD3850 , and now I hesitate to install it on the HD 5770,
because the VAPOR-X design , cools down and the south-bridge ..

I got the Nanoxia PWM-X controller , and I can hook this up on the ATI card ( 4 pins ) and drive the original Zalman fan , with out issues .

But the VAPOR-X works nicely , and silently,
and so I do not take the decision to try the GV 1000 on it .

You did nice work with that fan on the Zalman , and your box looks nice , for now.

My GA-MA74GM-S2H can control the fans via PWM or voltage, it autodetect if the fan has PWM or no and control it via the apropiate method
I throttled down my 3-wire CPU fan with Smart Fan and EasyTune, (SpeedFan doesn't do anything)

Easy tune does work, but just for CPU fan not for sys fan.
I need sys fan control.
The ideea is to reduce noise in idle as much as i can.
When i play a game the noise doesnt bother me.
For CPU i use Arctic Cooling Freezer 64 Pro @2200 MAX RPM, so in idle it is acceptable @ aprox 1300RPM.
For HDD i think i will use XILENCE COO-XPHD.CL.B

I can control both CPU and SYS_FAN2 headers of my GA-EP45-UD3 and GA-EP45-UD3LR using Speedfan, ET6 only allows control of CPU fan.

Yes the fresher versions of speedfan does have PWM control , but CPU and SYS_FAN2 fans must be PWM ( four pins ) so to get controlled .

Personally with an 140mm at 1000rpm as CPU fan + one mini 70mm spinning with low rpm, with just five volts , i have zero noise issues , and I do not need speed control.

That's not true, on my GA-EP45-UD3LR I have 4 PWM fans ( 2 * Akasa Apache's on heatsink and 2 * Arctic Cooling AF12025 as case fans) connected to CPU fan header and a 40 mm 3-pin fan working as NB fan connected to SYS_FAN2 header. Both can be controlled by Speedfan at same time.
