Either choice is going to be a huge improvement over your 8400GS, so it's really up to how much you want to spend. My vote is for the 6870.

IMHO, i'd go with the GTX 460. Has an awesome custom cooler. That's less noise and lower temperatures for you. They rougly perform the same anyway.

Depends on whether you value performance or value. The 6870 is the better performer outright but the 460 is probably a slightly better value after a few price cuts and rebate promos.

They both are nice. I would go with the 460 just because i lean alittle toward nvidia but am in no way a fan boy.

Performance isn't far off from each other. IIRC the 6870 is slightly better.

I like cards that exhaust heat out of my case. If you've got the money grab a 6950 & unlock it as discussed in the forums. AMD Radeon HD 6950 Can be Unlocked to HD 6970

i read this a bit too late.....i got the 6870...first time ever that i have an ati card....my previous card was a bfg 9800 gtx 512mb but i sent it to my friend overseas....any advice or hints on these ati cards? anything anbout cool features i should know about? thanks again
