Take a look at this poll. Puts to rest any thought that those with a 775 only would consider SB ;).

The vote for 1136 users is a lot higher then I thought though .

I'm not putting my X58 system to rest, I will be surplanting it with another folder with the I7-2600k to help build some points up with -bigadv.

No no and NO. Walking backwards through a corn field is not my idea of "scratching the itch."

Backwards being a metaphor for the giant step backwards in innovation for the desktop crowd, and the corn field is of course a phallic representation. No means no intel :shadedshu

I certainly don't have the itch to ditch my x58 setup, but I wouldn't mind playing around with a SB setup. I really dislike not having the option to overclock the original way, but things are certainly changing.

I actually just upgraded my X58 setup. I see no reason, other than the "it's new" factor, to move to P67.

Not I. I think I shall wait for Bulldozer before even thinking about it. More likely, I will skip the first gen of Sandybridge and Bulldozer and wait for the second gen.

In the process of switching from my i7/X58 system to a Phenom II X6/880G system actually. As X58 ending up being to much for my needs, so i just decided to back down a little and go with AMD and sell the i7/X58 stuff off.:)

Not even the 990X at $500 is going to get me to upgrade, let alone this 1155 business.

Sorry but 1366 has been and will be king socket for a while.

I could see buying a 2600K just because it's a new platform, and I'd like to see what it can do. That's the the hardware junkie in me. However, Performance wise, I can't imagine a better platform than x58 for quite some time. Performance is outstanding, and prices are quite reasonable. In fact, despite my love for AMD, I kept going back to x58 after switching over to Phenom II a few times. It's just that good.

I was thinking of upgrading to SB but I'm just not very impressed. So now, I wait for Bulldozer. If i don't deem that desireable I'll probablly go to X58 or X68 whenever that comes out. Lots of cool new motherboards for X58 at CES this year.

Would you know if X68 will be 1366?

I have a 2600K sitting in the cart. Just want to play with it...waiting on some more mb info first. It will not replace my 980X tho.

I've been running a very solid Q9650 at 4.05ghz for almost 2 years and have no need to upgrade.

And yet, I just dropped about $700 on new Sandy Bridge components. I'm either very stupid or very bored.

I'm not ditching LGA1366. The new processors bring nothing new to me and an upgrade would be a complete waste of money.

LGA2011 or Bulldozer, now that might be a whole new story, but I'll wait for them both before I make any decisions or wishes.

Hell, I'm not ditching my low-end AMD setup... AII 240 at 3.5GHz is fast enough for me.

This is the longest I have ever owned the same CPU and motherboard, I got my C0 stepping 920 about a month after they were released and it has given me all and more than I want/need so I am more than happy to stick with it until I get really bored.

Technology advances, and its whole point is to enable more people do things they could not do before.
