Any help overclocking my Sapphire HD 4730 card would be great if it's possible though.

I tried ATI Tool - didn't detect
Riva Tuner - didn't detect
ATI Tray tool - didn't detect

It's maxed out on CCCentre but I think it could go way further????

Any mods are welcome or programs that can detect it THANKS for reading

Best Regards All

Tried it no luck Guess I could download a up to date one from your link and try that thanx for your effert. Really I think this graphics card would be a great overclocker if the software was available I think I'll keep hunting and post my findings for others if I find any! lol

You could mod and then re-flash the BIOS to that the CCC limits are higher.

Thanks fatguy this indeed a possibility and I have used ati flash utilities before to flash and tweak the bios firmware, but it is risky and there's no telling what could happen when flashed.
I wait to see if there's a safer option first for a little while and then go for it!

This is probably the only option I have so far and I got a x-fire machine so maybe i should just buy another hd 4730 and go with that.

:rockout: :toast: cheers my man great stuff and thanks to all who know he heee! lol

How about MSI Afterburner? http://event.msi.com/vga/afterburner/download.htm :toast:

You could also try not installing CCC and just install the standalone driver and then try using a 3rd party overclocking tool.

erocker, the 4730 come with catalyst 9.4 there are no other drivers with it there is a driver on AMD so that might work.

Tryed flashing to 4830 no luck also flash 2 4850 @ 4870 but no luck either i'll keep trying

keep trying every way as possible , or maybe your GPU bios has been locked from factory, so GPU Freq can't be changed manually.

I think your right probably don't get any permission to go any higher because of hd 4770 card
ATI my be scared this thing can burn up the compo so they restricted the max clock he hee..
It didn't work with any utility or register with everest and the volt adjust and bios swap makes it either not boot or unreadable with CCC and Drivers. The drivers I got go from 4xxx series to 5xxx series so when changed should detect. GPU detected 16 rops 12Gpix and 24Gtex as a 4830 but drivers wouldn't run it so no go if it did then it would have gone from
8 - 16 ROPs
6G - 12Gpixs
15G - 24Gtex Cooool but no driver probably because the mix bios setup! :banghead:

Overclocked successful

 I done it by downloading single display drivers from amd

then RBE bios tweaking by makeing a copy of original from GPU-z

Once in the RBE program adjusted the Core to 910 and mem to 1100 and then adjusted volts to 1.5v on the board then changed the name to the His, powercolor ect bios name and
tweaked the fan settings so the lower limit was up to 60% saved as rv.bin to bootable usb, then restart sys and enter usb atiflash and flashed it then on next startup I went to GPU-z and it was set at the above settings and run GRID at 100fps average coooool... :rockout::rockout::rockout::rockout::p:p

I was gonna say - amd gpu clock tool has worked for me before on every ati card I've ever used, but I guess I'm late to the party :p

:respect: Your right man and your not late I'm the only foul who would do it, it's seems at least for the hd 4730 sapphire anyways but I'm not finished yet I got hd 4770 to put in the gaming rig and i need to even out the GPU with the mem so they work together for the baest result. If u just push the GPU core and not the mem then the bench won't be as good
because the gpu will be at it's limit but not the ram so i back down the core speed and throttle up the mem until i find a max performance so i'll even the max with hd 4730 then 4770 so i can get a estimate of the amount i can push them in x-fire or does it make a difference in x-fire either way i'm about to find out yoal:rockout:

Didn't Work but the thought was nice Just bought another 4770 to do Crossfire with
Overclocked one of them alot but the sapphires are bios locked so you won't get much out of them. 20900 3DMark for £100 is what I'm talking about and not even the best board to pump it up with my two 4770 which were different make's and ATI's VTX are probably the best to fiddle with but the worst are sapphire even thou it's looks are great it's overclock is flimzy! lol
You get the best results from the rbe program and ATI flash utility which need to be placed on a bootable usb. HP have a USB bootable Program and you'll need a floppydrive and floppy or Vertue floppy program to convert the files over. lol GLuck

u say that it does not work to reflash the bios of HD 4730 ?
The step to reflash i undertand and i read some tutorial about it, but the part where i need to modifiy the voltage is tricky, hard to understand for my FIRST video card bios REFLASH
I will make a USB stick XP bootable soon.

Lowing Voltage

Icoman, what you got me confused with is I ment Crossfire didn't work with mixed boards not the bios mod. If you want to set the voltage higher wich I don't recommend you have to open a box at the bottom and adjust the highest setting out of the three setting to match the voltage you want. But if you increase it watch out it could cost a new Graphics Card I would go for tiny amounts rather than big amount of adjustment but to be honest setting your mem higher is better like 1100 across the settings keeping them the same allows no screen flicker as it would if it had to adjust frequency. Also put the Lower settings even lower for GPU core frequencies because when it switches back to the lower settings it will cool quicker.

Here a picture to show you of what I mean, also adjusting the fan to manual settings allows to to put 100% at 60c and 30% at 30c and when it gets hotter it goes up to 60c and reaches max fan speed and when cooler it's somewhere between so the fan has a program before not needing extra tweaks from the ATI Overclocking utility, it's handy because when you set it up in bios hack you can forget about it but test it first to see if the speed changes aproprately.

GoodLuck IcoMan

My video card Sapphire HD 4730 have freq. 750 GPU / 900 DDR5 FULL LOAD but in IDLE clocks are: 600 / 899 Mhz DDR5 ... what should be the freq. for settings the IDLE MODE ?

and what are the clock speeds maxim to use: 900 GPU / 1100 Mhz DDR5 ??? (need boost of voltages at these speeds ?) need Lower speed than these ?

do u still have the bios file of your modified hd 4730 ? can u post it ?

Overdrive from CCC let me mod. GPU to max. 790 Mhz and ram to 1100 Mhz .. so i could use only these for boost performance or is better to do a reflash of the bios ?
I don't want to rise voltages ! only if it is necessary ....

For ur 4730, Use Afterburner and go to config file and change the "enable unofficial ATI overclocking from 0 to 1 . I have Sapphire 4850's and found AB to be the most reliable tool for overclocking

Great Tip I agree

and the bios mod I had went with the Card when I sold it sorry, but I think it was for max settings 900+ core 1100+ mem and Startup or boot voltage was 1.260v

You can lower the lower setting from 400 to 300 also lower the voltage under these settings so it helps cool the card in IDLE mode.

Hope this helps and If I still had the bios mode I would post a link!

Here this is all I have left of the evidence http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DyUfpxVvifQ

Thank you all ! i think i'll use the tool Afterburner (as AlienIsGOD said), i think that a "soft oc" is more fast and safe than a bios oc !!!
i'll post info about my oc after these week-end !
