Buying a US Win7 for use in Hungary

This is a bit grey for me to explain, but, is it possible to take a US version of Win 7, and send it to a buddy in Hungary. It would be a new install. (I know there are European copies as well, and I have a bud that has a TechNet subscription that can get access to one if needed)

Looking up all the language pack, native language, ect is starting to confuse me a lot. I see it with Office, Windows, ect.

if anyone can share some insight, it would help greatly.

Win7 Ultimate?
That the only version with all the language packs available, if I'm not mistaken.

Windows Language packs is only for Ultimate. Office language packs are for all versions I believe.

So when you buy it, you have to install in English then download the additional packs?

I don't know if the language packs for Windows is on the DVD or not. But for office you have to buy them.

are windows 7 cd keys per language? i'm not sure but i think you can install any language windows with any key matching that edition

what exactly are you looking for ? hungarian windows 7 or american windows 7 with hungarian cd key ?

I would be getting a Hungarian windows 7, or the closest thing to it.

I have technet as an option, but, the guy I know that has it is flaky.

Well, I think the best thing for me to do in this case is grab then a European copy of Win7 Ultimate. That way, I or the person I am helping won't have to play international tech support.

Thanks for the great reading material though. Its never a bad thing learning more about OSes.
