As the title states, looking for a 160 to 250 gig hard drive (SATA) as cheap as possible. The person that I am looking for really doesn't have a whole lot of money, so the cheaper the better:eek:

Thanks in advance.

If you are looking for a new drive instead of a used one, this might help. From what I've seen, the 160GB drives usually cost about the same as 250GB drives.

If you are located in the US:

Directron.com
Western Digital Caviar SE 160GB - $35.99 + S&H
http://www.directron.com/wd1600aajs.html

Western Digital Caviar Blue 250GB - $35.99 + S&H
http://www.directron.com/wd2500aaks.html

Seagate Barracuda 7200.12 250GB - $36.99 + S&H
http://www.directron.com/st3250318as.html

Directron is sometimes cheaper than Newegg, and their S&H is less as well. Also, no sales tax unless you are located in Texas.

Comparison:
Newegg
Western Digital Caviar Blue WD1600AAJS 160GB - $35.99 + Tax + $6.29 S&H
Western Digital Caviar Blue WD1600AAJS 160GB 7200 ...

Western Digital Caviar Blue WD2500AAJS 250GB - $42.99 + Tax + Free S&H
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16822136113

Seagate Barracuda 7200.12 ST3250318AS 250GB - $39.99 - $5 (Promo code EMCKHJB25) + Tax + Free S&H
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16822148451

Hope this helps.

Any chance you might be interested in a 500GB USB drive? You can pull the drive from the bay and use it as a SATA drive and keep the external for yourself!
