Thinking about getting xbox 360, has the 3 lights of doom been fixed?

Firstly, mods, I apologize if this is the wrong section, but I didn't know where else to put it.

I haven't really kept up with the 360, so I am not too sure about the problems it has or the things you can do to prevent/fix problems. I have checked other forums and I seem to be getting older stuff from March and back, so I am wondering if the red lights have been fixed. Any input would be greatly appricated.

PLEASE NO FLAMES OR TELLING ME NOT TO WASTE MY MONEY. Thanks

I haven't really heard of many people having problems with them recently. The biggest one I always heard was overheating, but I haven't even heard that lately. I haven't had any problems with mine so far. It's survived at least 5 different 5+ hour gaming sessions with no hiccups, but I've only had mine for a month and a half tho.

My Xbox crapped out on me 2 years after I got it, thats why I am a tad nervous. 2 years my sound like a long time, but keep in mind that I have working consoles dating back the the NES and I still play them too.

Ive never had a problem with my 360 and Ive had a few day long gaming sessions on it. I do have to admit that I replaced the stock fans with a nice green LED Talismoon Whisper Fan off ebay so now it runs a bit cooler and quieter

You can buy external fans that just slot on the back of the console if your that worried about overheating

But Im sure you will be ok, it was the 1st batch of 360's that had the bad overheating problem

Just take the plunge and get one m8, there are some cracking games out for it (Gears Of War, Lost Planet, Saints Row, Fight Night Round 3 etc etc) with more to follow soon (Halo 3, Alan Wake....I could go on)

I love my Xbox360

I have had no problems with my 360 yet but I did fix the cooling problem with water cooling. I am using a Koolance Exos ls water cooling system works great.

Okay, thanks. The last ones I can find that were having problems were the March 06 ones, I have yet to see one with problems after that date.
