Large explorative map. Non-linear quests. Open-ended i.e. when the main quest is done the game doesn't quit on you. Multi-conclusive i.e. one bad choice won't spoil the entire game but would get just a different ending.

You know, my biggest problem has a bit more to do with "technology" than with games (I actually had a rager about this yesterday), but my largest problem with anything is when something tells you what you want to do, or assumes what you want to do - AKA, I have no input on what something is doing.

Old school RPG gameplay. A la Original Final Fantasy gameplay or original zelda gameplay. Games with real puzzle solving elements. Extremely hard side scrolling shooters like r-type and contra. And please someone give me an up to date football game, even if its old school like tecmo bowl!

I would like to see less games following a trend and more games with originality. This could include newer and different map designs that aren't too linear. Warhead for example despite it being a linear FPS it felt like I was fighting my way through an open world.

I would also like to see more action games that have a bigger focus on story, a perfect example would be the trailer for Dead Island, not the game, just the trailer which was pretty engaging. Where I've seen this before is usually in japanese hack and slash games, I'd like to see it on a FPS game that is western based.

More specifically: enemies that are not 'attached' to certain spots, like a gate or waypoint, and never leaving that area, but enemies that freely hunt you down.

I was looking for a game to play and you sir helped me find one. Witcher seems to be the one as I couldn't finish the rest of those games. Dragon age took too damn long and I got tired of having to kill 20+ mobs at a random encounter.
