would these be any good for cooling a dedicated gpu in a laptop?? (X1600MR), secondly. since its only 0.35mm would it be possible to cut 2 small squares of these and stick them togther to make it thicker or is that not recommended??? i think theres a small 1mm gap between my gpu and the HSF in my laptop

Copper spacer. 1 of these and 2 squares of thermal tape and you're away.

EDIT: Have a look around their shop on ebay, they might have one specifically for your lappy. They're from Ashford too, that's a 15 minute drive from me, so I can help with sourcing if anybody outside the UK wants these copper spacers...
