I tried googling but couldn't find an exact definition here. Where exactly is evga B stock coming from? Returns? Refurbished? Defective? All of those? I'm weary of these sorts of things because most returns of cards seem to be because it overclocked poorly (compared to the buyer's expectations). As evidenced up by the fact that every open box on newegg I've ever gotten has overclocked by no more than 5%

EVGA has a trade in program as well. Fans die under warranty. So yes, all of those.

This B stock does come with a limited warranty.

B-stock are usually either refurbs or "defective" returns that weren't. However they usually come w/ only a 90day warranty. And in my past experience, EVGA's refurb process isn't exactly thorough, I've gone through a couple of RMA's to get a good one back in the 9series days... not sure how good they are now.

No B stock is usually from step ups and minor defective products like fan issues that are replaced.

I'll agree with this. I ordered a 750i FTW board from their B-stock. When I recieved it, the USB controller was totally dead, so none of the USB ports worked. So while waiting for that board to be RMA'd I bought a standard 750i board, and the 3rd memory slot was bad when I recieved the board. When I have to RMA my 680i board, the reccertified board they sent me in return had a defective intrusion sensor that threw a post error every time the machine was booted/restarted. All three of these issues should have been obvious problems, which really makes me wonder about their recertification process... I eventually did recieve worked boards though.

On another note, if you are up for buying their B-Stock some of these items are available on newegg for cheaper.

really because I have not seen that

I really think it is all just the luck of the draw, but the problems I've had had definitely point to a very poor recertification process. It is almost like they just pop a single stick of RAM and a basic processor in the boards and boot to BIOS. If all is well, they ship the board off.

I will say I never had a problem with their service, and they were always quick to replace the defective products. Making the customer pay shipping kind of sucks though...

Personally, I'd still buy B-stock products. They are a great deal, and the problems I've seen all were problems that were obvious right when I got the product. So if the item works perfectly when you get it, it will probably continue to work perfectly for just as long as a normal product would. But just do a really good run through of every function of anything you buy before the 90 day warranty is up.

I just had to RMA the GTX460 SC EE I received as RMA replacement last December. The card never did seem to be quite right; it would not overclock, it had coil whine when stressed, and finally began overheating and causing crashes.

Well B stock just became worthless. Prices are nuts now. They want retail for everything. A 580 was $380, now it's $460. Who would buy that.

The prices usually fluctuate greatly. EVGA isn't one of those companies where the "special" price is the normal price. Give it another week or two and there will be some good deals again.

Prices dropped, plus there is a 10% off code that you can apply. Some really good deals on there right now.

I'd get that 480 for $198 after code. More memory and stronger vrm than a 570.

Trying to buy a GPU for my friend but they are rejecting my card. How quick do they respond to emails usually?

Heh, never mind. Already got a reply. Quick as bunnies indeed. Their billing address thing is strict as hell. Wouldn't accept W but it accepted West.

prices have to be condition based, otherwise why would a 2GB gtx 285 sell for 40$ less than a 1Gb version?
