IMO, yes. Get a Corsair AX series if you can afford it. The 850W should be able to handle a mildly OC'ed 2500K and dual GTX 570s, but do a little more research before taking my word for it.

The corsair AX series(AX850) really isnt that good. The HX850 has much better voltage regulation and ripple suppression.

The HX850 is the 2nd best PSU when it comes down to ripple suppression. Close to none. The Ax850 really only has it in efficiency.

Where did you get that from? 570's in SLI will only max out with a 3 monitor setup. With a single monitor they'll be fine even at 2560X1440

I can tell you from personal experience with a GTX 470, two 570's, and 4 6950 2GB's that some games (especially in 5760x1080 eyefinity) totally max out vram and go way over 1.2GB. Games are coming out with super high resolution textures, and more complex models that require much more VRAM. The 1.2GB limit has been causing issues in high resolution texture games like DA: Origins, DA2, GTA4, and some less popular games. No one is making a big deal of it, but when all the new DX11 native titles come out they will start breaking that barrier. The 570 will have "no upgrade path" as you said pretty soon.

I would go with a 3GB 580 or a 6970 if I were you. The 6970's continue to drop in price. I saw the MSI reference 6970 for $299 at Fry's just a couple days ago. My local shop still has reference 6950 2GB's in stock from Diamond & XFX as well.

Can you elaborate a bit more in what exactly was "garbage" about them? I'm just curious as to what you mean.

rofl

yea i agree alot of people says that ati's drives are garbage. nvm amd's drivers are garbage, anyhow must people cant even tell the different

while i am an amd fan i do agree they suck at making good drivers so their cards dont run as fast as they suppost to for each game, also they retarded cuz they made a card with double bios feature so people can mess around with a bios and yet u cant even change the bios cuz it wont work.

either way the drivers are garbage cuz even tho crysis was release in 2007 this 750$ video cards which are suppost to be the fastest since they beat the single 6990, this bs cards cant run crysis at over 60 fps. so yea am dissapointed

my poin dont go amd, buy a 570 that should be good enought

I wouldn't. Amd's drivers are garbage compared to Nvidia's. OP.. What about just grabbing a 470? Yeah it'll run hot and eat power but they're cheap, overclock like mad and 179.99 over at EVGA B stock

Some are because they update them so often, but there are good ones out there. a 6970 would chew a 470 up and spit it out.
Nvidia's are power hungry noise/heat producing machines too. If you wait just a little bit I'm sure the 7000HD series is around the corner too.
In Xfire there were some issues for awhile, but they seem to have worked that out from what TPU'ers have said on the BFBC2 clubhouse.

Looks like a found my replacement i think http://www.hardwareheaven.com/revie...ctcu-2-graphics-card-review-introduction.html $250.00, needs cash for car so if all goes as plan itll be mine!
That's what I'm going with if I upgrade for BF3 before the 7000 series is released. I'm trying to be patient:)
