so what's the best 1200W PSU out at the moment? I have been eying up the Antec High current Pro 1200W, but i noticed that Maximum PC used a 1500W Silverstone in their latest Dream Machine PC..., so is there a 1200W Silverstone or by any other manufacturer of PSUs that is better than the Antec High Current Pro 1200W?

power doesn't always mean better. If your just asking which is the best, corsair has a great rep for strong psu's, silverstone does as well.

But if you're looking to get a 1k psu, then why? Do you actually need that much power?

AX1200 is the best. Kitguru squeezed 1550w out of it before automatic shutdown with no issues whatsoever

i currently run what's in my System Specifications, and have been requiring a continuous 100% duty on it, and may plan for more GPUs within the same rig via PCIe x1 & x4 to PCIe x16 extension cables

and perhaps later on, a new motherboad that may properly accodomate more than 2 PCIe x16 @ full x16 speeds, so it's more for the growing

I would go with the Silverstone they have been making a quality product for quite a while now ive had mine for 4 1/2 years of heavy use and it shows no signs of failing anytime soon.
Also there modular stuff uses plain male to male cables which makes things much easier when doing custom cables.

I remember reading a review about psu in 1200W and what i saw was that seasonic was the best.
Unfortunately, its downside was its cost

My guess is that it'll fit. It's 20cm long and your case is 49cm long. It might get cramped if you plan to fill it up with harddrives, but it'll fit.

Since the high-end Antec, Corsair and Silverstone are all quality products, you might want to factor other things into your decision.

I'd look at warranty length and RMA procedures (where you have to ship the PSU if it breaks. Might make a dent in your wallet...).

Corsair (AFAIK) don't need proof of purchase, but might cost a bomb to ship to RMA. Antec's the opposite in UK. I've got no experience RMA'ing Silverstone, so can't comment on that.
