Samsung launched a new PC monitor targeting 3D gaming (as in gaming with stereo 3D). The SyncMaster S27A750D is a 27-inch LED-backlit LCD monitor that is geared for stereo 3D, thanks to support for 120 Hz refresh rate. The display boasts a native resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels, with 2 ms (GTG) response time. Other panel specifications include 10,000,000:1 Mega Dynamic Contrast Ratio, 1,000:1 static contrast ratio, and 300 cd/m² brightness.

The SyncMaster S27A750D is equipped with ambient light sensors to adjust brightness accordingly, and a motion sensor that detects if the user is away, so it can dim down the panel and save power in the process. Display inputs include HDMI and DisplayPort. A pair of 3D shutter glasses come bundled. The SyncMaster S27A750D is priced at €518, on pre-order.

I agree. This is way too expensive, even at launch. A similar 23"/24" from Samsung is like $500. This new model looks to be like double that amount:slap:

Did you guys just skip over the part about 3D and 120 Hz refresh rate at 2 ms GTG response time? Samsung does not have a similar model for cheaper. All of their 27" 3D monitors are in this price range.

SAMSUNG S23A750D Black 23" 2ms Full HD 3D LED Back...

23", LED, 3D, Full HD, 250 cd/m2.

Your telling me a $500 jump is justifiable for 4 extra inches and 50 cd/m2 more brightness? This is the same exact model with barely anything extra. If it hits the states like I think it will, they will charge $1,000 for this thing.

No. :shadedshu more like EPIC FAIL. Unless this monitor can produce 3d images without the glasses or has professional applications......and even then its still not a reasonable investment .
Exchange rates.. my bad no so out of line after all

Well first the price in USD is around $750: http://www.xe.com/ucc/convert/?Amount=518&From=EUR&To=USD

And yes I am saying 4" diagonally for 3D is worth an extra $200.

$584.13 with free shipping here in the U.S. that is a damn fine deal for a 27in 1080p sammy with 120 refresh and 3D.

people with only negative things to say will only say negative things.

That price is wrong....at least its probably the RRP which is way higher than real price.

This monitor is old news, we discussed it 6 months ago. Anyway the 27" monitor is for sale in Australia for around $490(aussie dollar is the same as US right now), so around 350 Euro.

The 23" is around $380AUD or 270 Euro and this is a 120Hz 3D displayport monitor with excellent image quality.

The only other 120Hz 3D 27" is the Acer for $800 US (500 Euro) so this monitor is cheap for a 120Hz monitor.

Within a year or so all gamers will have a 120Hz monitor.....

Reaching your left retina.
Always the same thing with the euro... :banghead:

You just can't convert the currency. There's many factors that make euro price higher than US prices, mainly taxes and a good bit of ripping us off, but that's our own issue, not for those in the US.

The 23" monitor that in the US costs $469, in EU costs €419. That's how it works, how each market works (sadly for us EU citizens).

€518 in EU and $583 in US for the 27" seems like a bargain in comparison.

Jesus. You could probably get an Eyefinity-setup with 3 1920x1080 monitors for that price. Might not be LED-backlit or have the best quality, but still, I'd rather have surround view than 3D-view if the two cost the same.

I've been living in the past for a bit then. Because I was still thinking that the Euro was almost 2x the U.S. Dollar. Silly me :slap:
$750 is decent for that size monitor, with all it's bells and whistles.

it is pretty common for internet retailers to do a straight 1-1 conversion regardless of exchange rate.

Comparing 22-23" to 27" is ridiculous, try a big one and you won't go back to a smaller one. The price of this monitor is very good.

120 refresh and 3D.

They are not 2 different tech's, ie: you have 120hz, and bam you have 3d also

Still for a 27" monitor at 1080p it is horribly overpriced and under spec'd, in all honesty I could care less about 3d ffs, give me some more real estate especially on a 27" monitor, 1900x1200(+upwards) would be nice and not any more expensive to produce, 3d or not for $600 there are much better 27" monitors out there for that kind of money, I mean who do they think they are? Apple??

actually there isnt a single 27" 1080p 120hz 3D monitor that boasts Samsung quality for significanly less money on sale in the US.

I don't think there are any 3d monitors in that size for cheaper, regardless of quality.
