This would be Corsair's second product recall in 3 months, the Force 3 120GB that shipped back June with the wrong Firmware and according to Corsair faulty hardware.

How about some silly Indiaan dude wasn't doing this job properly? Yeah, it works both ways.

well, Im glad i have an Asetek unit and not a CoolIT one.

I wasnt that all impressed with the H100 anyway. I could get the same temps as the H100 on my 920 but the fans would have to run faster. the overall difference was only by a few degress. but here in the UK, ambient temps are always fairly low unless theres a heatwave on. so my results might be a little bias or skewed. depending on the ambient temp of the room when they tested.

Well, I tested my cooler, and it effectively is one of the defective units :(, I just emailed Corsair to start the replacement process:

To whom it may concern:

I'm writing in regards to my H100 cooler, which I purchased from Amazon.com on Sept. 12, 2011.

It has come to my attention that this particular cooler belongs the lot code 11359403 quoted in the recall notice posted on 9/30/2011 on this web address:

http://forum.corsair.com/forums/showthread.php?t=99361

I followed the instructions posted and noticed no difference in the fan noise after pushing the profile button on my cooler, the indicator lights change, but the fan speed remains the same.

I tried resetting the firmware using the instructions posted as well, the lights will blink for a few seconds, the fan ramps its speed but it quickly goes back to the slowest speed, and remains there regardless of how many times I push the profile button.

I've come to the conclusion that I have a defective unit, and would like to receive instructions on how to arrange for an advance replacement and shipping of my defective unit back to Corsair at your earliest convenience.

My full name and address is:

EDITED

You can contact me preferably at my email address: EDITED, or at my phone number EDITED.

I look forward to your reply, and hope you can help me solve this issue. I attach to this email a photo of my proof of purchase, and a copy of my invoice. Thank you for your help.

Best Regards,

I'm going to wait for a reply to this email, before I start the RMA process, my unit's lights work, but the fan speed remains sadly remains the same :( Have any of you guys had any experience with Corsair and their RMA process?

This is such a bummer, back in March I had a really bad experience with Gigabyte and their RMA department after the P67 recall, I'm really hoping things will be different with Corsair :)

Any input or past experience from you guys will be greatly appreciated :)

When they recalled the Force 3 120GB back in June it took them less than 10 business days to get the replacement to me, they paid for shipping, UPS Ground (East to West Coast 5 Days), the replacement was shipped from another facility closer to my state so it took less time for it to be shipped to me. Getting a refund for the drive was a little more aggravating as they would like you to wait 3 to 4 weeks after they receive the item for it to be processed before they send out the check.

Thanks for your reply ;) that gives me some hope, and it's not like my cooler is not working, even at low speed it's about 8 degrees cooler than my old H70 :p

I'm gonna give'em my credit card info so I can get an advance replacement, just thinking of removing the back plate sends shivers down my spine :wtf: when I installed my cooler for the first time, I had to tear my whole rig apart :(

I just got one and it from the bad batch. I used the directions to test it. When I cljck the profile button it does seem to change the fan speed slightly but if I unplug one of its fans and plug it back in it runs alot faster for a few seconds and then syncs up with the other. I'm wondering if the profiles are minimum run settings and they run faster if hot or do I have a defective unit.

If youre looking for a quicker answer - its best call up or email corsair support with your question or head to their forum and ask your question there as we dont have a corsair rep on these forums and we dont know the full nature of these fan controller issues.

there are less then a handfull of members here that have the H100

I was looking at my local PC shop for the H100 and noticed it has the batch #11329403. The once that is affected is batch #11359403.

Is that batch OK to buy? There's only one number difference between the two batches.
