Based on the reviews i felt it was better to keep my X6 1055T, i instead bought a HD 6970.

I'm going to wait for either the second iteration of Bulldozer or wait till i see some worth in the current line of Bulldozer chips.

Good for you, it makes sense to do what you did, as for me I am still on the Socket AM2+ platform with an Asus Crosshair V Formula AM3+ staring at me with excitement while my fingers turn blue from all the gaming.

I voted no and Im pretty much agreeing with everyone else here by not purchasing bulldozer or faildozer wateva's u wanna call it I'm just going to stick with my current Intel i7 system no need to sidegrade or downgrade but I do feel AMD's bulldozer has hidden potential, I really wanted to give AMD another shot but I'll think I just wait for Ivy Bridge unless AMD come out with something rly gd & fast but I doubt it

Why not throw your Phenom II into your Asus Crosshair V to get it up and running?

Simple poll on who is still going to buy a Bulldozer chip, a lot of people have bought 990fx boards specifically for BD and others with older systems have put off upgrading waiting for BD so for them it may still be a worthwhile upgrade, just a yes/no and if you want leave a reason for your choice. No SB users as I doubt any of us would have bought one anyway.

Well, I'm pretty brand agnostic when it comes to CPU's and have flipped several times, but I voted a resounding No in your poll. It's such a shame about Bulldozer though. If it had 8 truly discreet cores, I might have got one as a second system, just so I could say that I had an octacore system and called it something silly like Octapussy or something. I'm not going to spend money on this multi-threading kludge though.

The whole Module thing is silly. It's 4 damn cores. I don't care how many Threads it can take, they basically made Netburst 2.0 with a more advanced HyperThreading. Sure, they took chances and I admire them for that, but it is proven time and time again, nobody wants a new product that isn't as good as the old product you were offering. I'm sure OEM's will sell a bunch of these, but considering how much the price dropped, and how much we've heard GF's is failing, I can't imagine AMD is going to be making a lot of money off these.

Yeah, years ago in 2003, I used to be a strong nvidia fan and I bought their products. Then they started jerking around with having their cards not work properly with DX7 games (weird judders), while ATI (yes the real ATI!) worked smoothly, so I switched and was very happy, especially with the monthly driver updates. Then nvidia started being better again, especially since the 8800 GTX, so I switched back (those rehash 9-series cards don't count) and I'm still happy with nvidia so far, especially due to the quiet coolers and 3D Vision feature which I use a lot and works well.

+1 on the cores and Netburst thing. Bulldozer is a real lemon. Unless AMD pull a rabbit out of a hat, I seriously have my doubts that AMD are gonna remain in the x86 market for long - the performance will be so far behind that they just won't be able to sell their products at a profit, if at all. Their GPUs on the other hand, are much more competitive and should see them stay in business, hopefully.

Never cared to follow brand names, unless they're giving me a paycheck i have no reason to act like one company is better then the other. If it performs good and stays within the budget i have at the particular time then i'll pick it up. Some people are so caught up with that stuff they'll buy a turd as long as it has their preferred company brand name etched in it. lol

My current system is actually all AMD, though it was all just a matter of coincidence.

I was considering buying a FX 4100 but the power consumption threw me off: voted no

Now, i plan on moving to an APU system. Need to confirm if the board i'm planning to buy for it, F1A75-V PRO, is compatible with my RAID card since UEFI BIOSes and Adaptec RAID cards don't mix well: already left a message @ the motherboard's forum asking.

What the heck is going on at my local PC shop? They completely sold out of AMD FX CPU's. One of the workers claims that 3 or 4 people were scraping for the last FX 8150 that was behind the shelf. It was a I asked for it 1st, no I did, no I did, F-U, no I did

Could it be that all of this negative publicity sort of turned positive for AMD

How is that possible when the PII x4 940 only has a DDR2 memory controller? The Socket AM3 CPU's have both DDR2 and DDR3.

Like I said before, I wish I could but the x4 940 is DDR2 not DDR3.

I may no longer wait until it reaches $200, I like the fact AMD is an Innovator. This is why I support them all the time. Bulldozer is not bad, just not great right now due to the minor issues which require resolving, though for my needs is may very well be the fastest CPU I've ever owned.

Now to look for one, they seem to be all sold out
