I have been thinking of overclocking but i seem to have heat problems like right now my cpu temp is at 46c idle i have the cpu watercooled dont know whats going on i have tried reseating the cpu plus reapplied thermal paste. The only thing i can think of is my 2 gtx 470's are making it run hot i have hit 60c on prime 95 not overclocked.
My question is,is it worth overclocking or should i just leave it normal?

What water-cooling set up do you have running on it?

If your pump is bad or going bad it won't flow much water through it and will markedly decrease its cooling performance.

When you reapplied the thermal paste did you clean off the old stuff ( sorry have to ask, no idea of your technical experiance) and make sure to use a very thin layer?

Aside from that have you made sure it's mounted correctly? ( nice n tight, although not to tight as the h50 mounting system CAN be over tightened and bow the motherboard a lot)

Or! You're living somewhere with 35c ambient temperatures.

( other things)

Fan speed?
Decent airflow within the case in general ( exhaust fans and intake fans, I don't like anything less than 100cfm as intake in a mid tower)

It is always hot in the room where my pc is
I have 6 fans total 5 120mm then the one on the front is huge i think its a 240mm not sure though as it came with the case 4 fans on the side are all intake 1 on the back is exhaust 1 on the front is intake and this is my 5th pc i put together just never overclocked before. And now that its cooled off outside my CPU is at 35c idle. Do you think i dont have enough fans on exhaust? And i think the fans are at 3000rpm not for sure though

Is your rad full of dust?

Also i don't know about the H50 but as for water cooling kit you have to change the liquid after a certain time , right?

35c would be a okay idle temperature when overclocked but still seems a little high.

So basically the exaust is on the h50?

In that case yeah an extra exhaust could help as all the warm air from your gpus and nb etc get's pushed through the radiator at the moment. ( essentially having the same effect as high idle temperatures)

Got any top fan ?

If not it might be worth reversing the h50 so the hot exhaust goes into the case, but then rerversing the two top sidepanel fans to suck out that air straight away.

EH just a suggestion

If I was there I'd have better luck trouble shooting this :)

Your cpu is isolated from the case heat effectively, it's the H50 radiator that you can consider as the weak spot. The cpu heat is taken to the H50 radiator and it is the temperature of that which dictates the cooling of your cpu.

I had a thought, you have connected the H50 fan to the H50 radiator? Seems simple but you never know....

Also, a push pull configuration on the H50 radiator would work best with the air being drawn in from outside the case. (see below)

If you have a set up like this (and your thermal paste and mounting is good) and you're still getting high temps, maybe your cpu is faulty?

i have the h50 mounted where its blowing the air out on the top of the case with one fan pushing and the other one pulling and a 120mm fan on exhausting the air out on the back of the case. I dont know maybe it was a bad idea doing it like that.
Going to try switching the fans on the radiator around that way it will pull the cool air in from the top of the case maybe that will have some effect. Also do you think it will work having 2 of my fans on the side exhaust helping get rid of some heat from my gpu's i was thinking it would be the bottom 2.

Your GPUs need cool air blowing on them so that their fans can use it to blow that cool air onto their heatsinks.
Hot air rises. Use your top fan(s) as exhaust, and put your H50 radiator and fans on the rear exhaust port (or some other exhaust/intake port, not sure of the layout of your case) -- blowing into the case.
The intakes will ensure positive air pressure inside your case, ensuring that there is fresh cool air constantly being provided to your components. The hot air will rise and be sucked/exhausted out the top of your case.

After doing that, if your CPU is still running hot, and there is nothing wrong with your H50, then you have a bad CPU.

You really need to do the research and experimentation and think this out for yourself.
Otherwise, what's the point? If you can't do it, you're better off not trying to overclock.
Sorry for that rudeness, but everyone else has been polite about it.

Really cause i just tried it my way now the temps dropped and still dropping.
And i did not ask for rude comments if you don't like helping then don't.
I have been doing this all by myself and i just thought i would ask for some advice.
How ever i do see your point so i will try it that way.

ok after putting the fans the way inceptor mentioned dropped it down to 32c idle and 49c full load.
i still think thats high but it's alot better then it was.

Yeah, a good air cooler will do wonders. But it's all still about correct air flow.
